Title: FAO GT Pro Performer 'MINI' owners
Post by: don on March 27, 2011, 10:18 PM
Ok so on an impulse after seeing the bikes in the museum forum I have bought a GT pro performer mini (i hope) which wasn't fully built which I would like to complete for my son.

It missing brakes set, pedals and chains. I'd like white brakes, white pedals and a chain any ideas what parts I should be looking for and ideas for sourcing the parts?

The bike came with a GT saddle, GT Mallet stem and handle bars (not sure of the make) but they look like to me 20"/full size versions - would that be right for a 16" bike if not what  should I be looking for to build it.

I will need to definately change the seat post / handle bars as they are too big for my son or maybe chop them down.

Yes it was that Candy red one.

Wow that is absolutely stunning mate.

Could you do me a favour and list all the parts  - inc sizes please - were they hard to source?

Do you know anything about the mallet stem for the mini's are they same size as the adult ones? Also bars as well.

Love the tyres as well.

Say it again that is absolutely stunning.

thats robs old gt.
stems the same as big size,
gt bars but cut down a little at each end.
165mm crank,
the seat is the hardest, as if you use a normal size it looks to big,
padset was made by steve on here, he made me a small padset.
just take your time and remember enjoy what you are doing,
and if it is for your son let him help you,  :daumenhoch:
i made this with my daughter, perfect family time.
if you need any more help pm me.
all the best gary
