Gents,

Thanks
Stace :)

what have you got to spend?
-
Will hopefully purchase this payday, hopefully no more than £100 or is that not enough?
-
amcycle's double pinch flight about £85 all in, bargain :)
-
85's came with redline 400's as stock
-
are you going to ride it or just look at it?
do you want it to be era correct?
one piece are cheap, and era correct. 20 quid...
redline 400's are nice but very dear these days, for original cranks.
the new ones are double pinch, but look very similar to the originals and are a good crank.
-
I'm gonna ride her !!
Definately want to keep it era correct!! I'm thinking the Redline is bang out of my price range!?! So what would you have instead???
If I go one piece, what chainring etc would you put on it??
-
have a look in the museum. all the chainrings/ powerdiscs will fit a one piece. see what you like....most stuff is still available.
-
Would you say the one piece is the way forward then?
What are the Sugino CT Cro-Mo 3pc Crank like??? What bike would they have gone onto??
-
sugino are nice too. most people ride 3 piece now, but its personal preference i guess. i havr the redline prolines on my rider which are only about 60 quid, but they are not era correct....

Are the 3 peice not era correct then or are you suggesting that I'm just better with a one peice?? Probably stupid questions but I've been out of this a long while!!
-
build it how you want it dude, mix it up and get it on, it needs to be up to the job and feel nice if ya gonna ride it, the double pinches are cheap strong and look the part (bar one bolt) its gonna be false economy goin for 1 peice era correct if ya gonna ride her coz you will bend them quite easily and each £20 crank soon adds up.

one piece or a pair of ct's
-
One piece are cheap, but still look good

I've never ridden with Sugino CT's, but that's what I'd go for. If you add up the cost of a 1pc crank, sealed bottom bracket, spider and chainring, you're looking at £50ish anyway so you might as well push the boat out a little more :coolsmiley:

Hi,
I went for a one piece

i also prefer the spider look chain ring than the solid one piece redline type you get with 3 piece cranks
-
I put Profiles on mine . . . a bit dearer than the Flights but a very nice crank set
