-and what is M I ?
serial number -12925091
then under
M I
-CLUES
-rings on head tube
squared not angled top tube through seat tube gt 4130 on cap
-gt stamped on all 4 sides of rear drop outs
-18.5 inch top tube
-right - so its a us built one, as the number is on the drop outs
-so is it a jan 82
or a december 92??
-
The top tube size indicates a standard model, my number was under the bottom bracket and had 84 in it. That seems to indicate an 1984 bike. I could be wrong but if your top tube is flat and not sloped im sure its before 1984, its just that all the GTs ive found on the net are like this before 84. Ive had the same trouble tracking my frame it seems its a standard 84 frame with pre 83 forks. Its in this resto section somewhere.

dec 92 beware tho as some gt `s weren`t made in usa and the serial number`s of them is totally different as had a perfomer that was like that
-
the yank site reckons
-serials on the bottm bracket, are jap made ones
-and numbers on the drops are us ones
-not that i makes a difference to me
-but i like the idea od it being early
-kind of feels early???
