Title: DP Freestyler - Mk1 verses Mk2 dimensions
Post by: punkdSICO on May 04, 2011, 10:48 PM
Hi all - I am now the proud owner of my second DP Freestyler.  They are both identical in dimensions and last night in this forum, I though my first one was a Mk2 as it matched someone else's in here who has a Mkt2.  The one I got tonight, the seller said it was the longer Mk1 but, its the same length as my first.

Both mine are:  42cm internal dimensions (shortest distance/metal to metal) from the seat post to the head tube.  If this is not clear, ill do a little diagram tomorrow.

So, do I have 2 Mk1s or 2 Mk2s??  the DP site does state that the Mk1 is 4cm (1.5 inches) longer so it should be easy to distinguish.  Shame they dont mention the actual dimensions..

ta,

Paul

the MK 1 did not have serial numbers and the MK 2 did is the easy answer :daumenhoch:

Forks on a MK 1 are wider aswell :daumenhoch:

That is a Sweet ride and was worth the BIN price in my opinion.. Great scor.  I was discussing it todat and saying a power disk and set of red panaracers would just about finish it :daumenhoch:

Yeah, Im still not sure why I bought it - the last thing I wanted was a bike Im scared to ride.  I really can not state how incredible this bike looks in the flesh; it is just spotless/perfect..  The thing is, I did some basic calcs on how much it will be to tart up my other DP Freestyler.  Even being completely aggressive on how little I could get away with spending, it still worked out cheaper to buy this mint DP.

I paid £650 for the mint DP and I think, depending on what I do next, the bike will actually end up costing me as little as £500, maybe less..

I have a few questions I need to ask about the bike but ill do them in separate threads.

Ta,

Paul

Cheers Steve, I thought that was the case....

My White DP doesn't have a serial number, but has the wider forks and the later (?) decals.....

Seeing as it has no serial number should it have the narrow forks....?

I need to go and measure the top tube....

I had a Mk1 Firebird Freestyler from OT Cycles when they first came out.
It had the black / gold "Firebird" decals on the frame and forks and the gusset plate behind the headset was smaller than on subsequent models.
