Title: any help and advice on this one? - anyone use this crank/trade?
Post by: sid1972 on May 08, 2011, 12:58 PM
Hi folks,

picked this up - think its about a 1998/99, I know its not that collectable but I am going to use it while my rider frame gets a fresh coat of powder.

Whats this crank set up all about?  It's a 'TRUVATIV', bikes still got a 16 tooth cog on the rear? Will it run ok for park etc?

Yep Mohawks - they're 'Sealed Mech' - ie loose ball bearings with a rubber shield.

 ::) thanks guys  :4_17_5:

sorry to sound really dim, what does that mean in terms of riding it - low gear set up or is it just a clearance thing?

could I use it for a bit of ramp work, mainly wobbling  ;D  or is it just not worth setting it up?

Oh I really like the look of those cranks fella.

You will however be pedalling like a madman running 25-16 really you want a 9t on the rear or keep the 16 rear and you know what to put up front

they are rather nice though, be a shame to not use them, nice chunky arms, mmmmm

Your Dirtbike will be spot on for park use...  :daumenhoch:

Odyssey and profile do cassette hubs with 10mm axles that would be able to use a 9t driver, expensive though, just whack a 44t up front and ride it as is...  :daumenhoch:
