Been playing this morn with the seat and post off my Cali and an old stripped Renthal layback. Now I don't know which route to go down. Not sure if the layback just looks like a big, fat bird's sat on it and bent it. Sarcastic replies most welcome and the odd serious one please.............. I guess it'll also end up with a non aero of some sort unless I win the lotto!!

Straight looks better but laybacks for me are more comfortable.

Layback :daumenhoch:
-
straight looks sooo much better.
-
Straight deffo if you can ride it like dat :)
-
this will not help i suppose,, but a shorter layback, the bendy bit not the hieght :daumenhoch: drop the stem and keep the aero style seat, even if it's a copy kashi , other seats look odd on GT's especially black ones which by the way...... :smitten: :smitten:
-
Nothing homophobic but the Str8 one looks better ;)
-
It has to be a straight post IMO due to the lazy seat tube angle of the GT. Some bikes have a seat tube which is nigh-on vertical and a layback works well on them but a straight one looks better on your bike...
-
Seriously? look at the
layback, it's GAY, straight is 1000000 times better.
-
straight all the way for me on a pro. :smitten:
-
Thanks peeps. Straight it is then....... Like a tit, I never thought about trying the Goose seat before stripping the Renthal!! :uglystupid2: Think I'll just cut the bend off to keep costs down and get looking for a seat. A mate's got an Elina lightning sat on his shelf................. ;)

Get a Snakepost on it right now! :D

Had a little ride on it today up the lane, too small with the straight!! Shud have bought a pro frame but couldn't find one at the time. :( On a good note, pulled my first wheelie and a bunny hop for the first time since '85!! :D Hernia's not got any bigger so that's a bonus! :daumenhoch:
-
And as no one ever looks in the wanted section............. seat please anyone, not a shit one??? Had no luck gettin my mates Elina, just seen that 'bay' one went for 205, jeeeez. It's all getting outta my league, my frame, forks, bars and powder coat cost less than that!!! :idiot2: Gonna get the snake back out............
-
On looks with that particular seat tube angle I'd say straight post.
But..... If you're gonna use it as a pub cruiser and spend your time sitting down then the layback will obviously give you a bit more room
Looks cool both ways though - nice bike :daumenhoch:
-
Layback for me but which ever you choose you need to drop the nose down on the seat as its tilted to far back, give it a go and see how much better it looks :daumenhoch:
-
Changin all my seatposts to laybacks again me...look cool if you get the angles right.
Snakeposts next methinks :)
