Been sorting out some bit's. I have come across all my old Poole Panthers bmx news letters dated between 1983 to 1985 if anyone would like imfo from them please let me know.

Brilliant, i raced at Poole all through those years.
I can see all of my best BMX buddies from those years on there in Rob Marshall, Jason Hopkins and Simon Dench. I can't see me or my Brother though but if these were club races i probably wouldn't of as i was a Bournemouth and Solent Spitfire member.

Does anyone know who won the Andy Sammars Memorial Shield for gaining the highest points in one season? I won it twice (once for the 81/82 season and for the following 82/83 season as well). I'd like to know what happened to it and how many of the little shields were engraved as I'm sure that it could have catered for about 20!

Ha Ha, Jon Moore and Geoff Routledge aint changed.
Jon still races now and Geoff still runs Bournemouth BMX club.

wonderfull thread, and lovely to see ted sammars, the late andy sammars father , who continued to give his support to the sport as a race referee, finish line judge and all round good guy, long after the sad demise of andy.
quality pic of routy tho, does anyone have a picture of him racing in the american football helmet ????

Are any of you guy's still in Poole / Bournemouth areas. I have seen some nice old skool BMX on Poole quay sometime on Motorbike evenings on a Tuesday.

Just come across this website and found this topic on Poole panthers my name is Scott bailey and raced down that way for years great to see my name at the top of the 9yrs group very happy memories I've still got my trophy for the 85 club champs.
