Title: NEW SCHOOL COME OLD SCHOOL BUILD
Post by: PK.RIPPER on May 25, 2011, 09:10 PM
Thought id share with you my second to last build ever  :(  :'( of a very rare bent down tube 2007 GT Performer with some 1984 Gt Performer attitude,Eddie Fiola rep if you like.
i will stick my neck out and say that this new school bent down tube performer is the only one of its kind on the planet i know that mr Costa built a similar 2007 performer in white but i have gone one step further not just by removing all the brake cable guides but i have removed the gyro brackets on the head tube and the brake mech anchers on the frame and the forks i wanted a strong new school frame and fork set to take the abuse but i wanted the actual finished bike to look old school as i hate new school bikes as they all look the same  :(.
Please let me know what you think of it  ;)
All the best Baz  :daumenhoch:

Same could be said about old school bikes

A bmx is a bmx to the uneducated... ever asked the mrs what she thinks of your bikes...  ;D

I used to think that way also, so I built this (very similar to yours but a race version) way back in 2004 now when Rad was 1st starting out.  Bloody hell that is 7 years ago now, doesn't time fly.

Actually don't think that about newschool bikes, they are really nice.

The Hutch mag wheels on the haro have grown on me over time i originaly wanted a set of turquise peragrin master graphites for it but i couldnt find any in that colour  :'(,i only bought them because they where  being sold for peanuts plus they are exactly the same colour as the frame set  ;)

I'm really liking that  8) when i saw the first pic i thought oh here we go some thing like you would find on ebay by some newbie - but i was blown away on how nice and sweet this ride looks - it seems to flow and i always like the performer in yellow and this modern take on it wins for me

top job  :4_17_5:

I also like your sport i've got the same one which i need some ideas for modding

Thank you for the comment benno  :daumenhoch:.
I personaly think that it looks better with the calipers rather than having those big chuncky lugs sticking out of the frame and forks but it was a royal pain in the backside chopping the lugs off  with a grinder then filling with filler, the worst  bits to chop off where the two gyro brackets on the head tube,Night Mare  :D.

looks  8)  mate althoe i would have put an mx type seat on it, have you tried riding it the weigh a ton  :LolLolLolLol:

totaly agree new shool look all the same with a slamed seat and 2" wide bars fcking hate em and cant ride them, but me new school flatland rides like a dream  :smitten:

Im glad you like it steve  :daumenhoch:. im still looking for a seat that will suit the bike  as the kashimax "handler" thats on it just doesnt look right ,a yellow dominator would look cool thats if they made them in yellow :-\, i personaly dont think that it weighs that heavy as i have rode bikes a lot worse.
