I sold my survivor Sugar Baby to Ash ( Nosher70 ) and he had plans in mind 8)
Heres his post from the 'Me & My Bikes' section... it needs to be in here too... the end result looks SICK >:D
"Heres my resto of a 1997 Hoffman Sugar Baby. It has now risen like a phoenix as a Hoffman Big Daddy (as the frameset is a 4130 Hoffman Big Daddy anyways)

"After the Blackpool Berm summer smash I decided to replace the tuffs with 48"s as my brakes were crap! now they are not! this is how the bike is at present"

I think it looks FOOKIN AMAZING Ash... bit sad I sold it now :)
You could do with some better brake pads I reckon :daumenhoch:

y'see I liked the Tuffs until I saw the stock original Alex rims back on there. The white tyres and the rims just look sweet... and will help loads with weight as the wheels are very light.
Ash - I think you might need to send your bars to Phil Sawzall and get them extended as they are pretty short :daumenhoch: - it only costs about £20 + postage
-
Thanks for the compliments guys-as you know this is my 1st build and rider which is why the rims were put back on. Shame tuffs dont work with braking. As soon as the rims went on I was thinking "damn im gonna have to readjust the brakes" but as soon as the rims were swapped the brakes worked 2 to 3 times better straight away.
Im assuming the bars are "stock" length so im gonna leave them as they dont seem a problem.
Just waiting to win the lottery before I decide what I wish for next....
-
Very niceash, arethose tuffs dyed a custom colour? using mrs griffs phone to surf so hard to tell
-
Superb build this, and the pics do not do it justice, sweet bike in the flesh, and looked great cruising down the seafront

I forgot you had a different set to the original ones that came on the bike - they were majorly hacked down.
I think yours are cut down a little but if you are happy with 'em then all good. :daumenhoch:
Like what you've done better than its survivor status... I wanna white bike with white tyres now... its just looks so Cali :smitten:

Hi all, no the tuffs arent dyed at all-they are "baby blue" tuffs with sealed hubs from the re-run skyway did a couple of years back. I agree it looks great with these wheels fitted but I bought it to ride and not a carpet queen. Later ill try and refit the tuffs and get the brakes working (bretty suggested alcohol or wet and dry paper to cure the problem) but for now I want brakes to work.....
:)

Well, ive decided to move on-it was a nice 1st project but ive managed to secure what is probably the LAST 21" condor anniversary frame in the world as all UK BMX shops are cleared out. Im gonna build it up with mostly white stolenBikes components and primo wheels etc
The BIG DADDY is for sale and I can deliver early/mid july. Im not after much for it as I need to clear garage space. Ill probably sell low enough so the buyer can make a profit selling as a splitter..........
-
I would be interested in the bars or possibly the whole thing for the right money !!
-
Maybe we can come to a fair arrangement, bearing in mind MOST parts were new before fitting and I have spares of what I changed.....
Where would I have to drive to if you were interested matey?
At a guesstimate theres around 700 quid spent on it, whats a decent offer?

:4_17_5: looks the nuts in white :daumenhoch:

It looks the nuts in the pics, but in the flesh its even better, it really does bling
-
Yeah its real nice, but not as nice as my condor will be and I need to clear garage space and recoup some of the £1300 ive spent on the condor................
