Title: 84 Haro sport 3rd gen rebuild , sorry lots of pics :)
Post by: benno on June 16, 2011, 09:56 PM
Hi guys , bit of background , this is my 1984 sport which ive owned from new ,
It went through many changes in its early life ( if only we knew how valuable they'd become ! )
i cant even remember how it originally was all i know is that bits used to get swapped around or changed on a regular
basis ,and it ended up being powdercoated red with a red and white theme ,
The last time it was rode in anger was probably over 20yrs ago , BUT it has always been my intention to restore it 1 day
and this year i did
I must say i was never going to go for a full on factory build or totally era correct build , just a nice looking bike to take me back to my youth and ride on sunny days with my kids  :)
unfortunately i dont have any pics of it back in the day :( ( although me mum might have in the loft )

Thanks for looking  :daumenhoch:

Benno that is Sweet , sweet, sweet   :coolsmiley:

and even better knowing it's always been your bike since new ,, you lucky fella  :daumenhoch:

Just one thing though why oh why  modern Twin pinch Redlines  :crazy2: ,, you had the original proper 80's crank ,,
everyone used one piece for freestyle  back then  , you've done a great job do it  justice  swap the cranks and pedals

Wow cheers for the comments guys ,
Pedals are being changed Shimanos landing very soon :)
Not gonna do Potts mod although I do have a drilled bolt if
I change me mind :)
Tyres are Cheng shin from Rini's bargain at about £36 pair
Not sure about the crank tbh , the 1 peice I have is probably
the original but does need a far bit of work to get it looking nice
( might look into getting it chromed )
Tuf pads are a temp measure untill some of the right colour blue
come along
Cheers Benno  :daumenhoch:

That looks very sweet now, I love spokes on early freestylers  8)

Just one thing, where did you get the decals ? 84 Haro's should have three stripes on them  ??? They look like 85s or 86s ???

Like Jay's 84 here  :)
