Looking really good so far, might want to push the seat clamp up so it's flush with the top of the seat tube though; it reduces any stress on around the bottom of the slit in the tube :daumenhoch:

Nice, i like that but i think it needs some pads :-\ ( only my opinion though)
I think sawzall has some NOS yellow tuff pads for sale.

Pads as in brake pads?
Or a padset?
Or both at a guess!!!
Its ok i re read that.
Yeah i was thinking about a padset, maybe a plain ish black one just to tone it down a little..?
Ill pm him about the tuff pads.
Thanks

If you ever decide to move it on I'll look forward to your PM ;)

Different forks maybe but it looks pretty close to this: http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/falcon/37941
A rebadged Falcon Pro maybe ???
-
It does look very similar, mine was bought as a f+f set and we just chucked it together, i cant tell from your pics but if i remember rightly it had about three holes on each side of the gusset has yours the same ? seams these tange frames got about a bit :LolLolLolLol:
-
;D ;D Yeah, when it comes to Tange, it's tricky knowing for sure what's what
The one in the museum isn't mine but on the blown-up image it looks like it's got the 3 holes in the small HT gusset.
Not sure these were Tange though. Seat-tube decal has Taiwan BDC?? Hi-Ten ???
So could be Akisu made: http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/sekai/8372
I only know of a couple of Tange frames with that type of gusset:
http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/tange/45000

See what I mean :crazy2:

I bought the one recently on Ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160599111244
It came with a Shot Gun II seat with Falcon stamped on the back and so mine must have been sold as a Falcon.
Looks like your Falcon decals probably were the original ones then
Cheers
Steven
haha, we were wondering who bought that!
You gonna be putting the Falcon decals back on though?
Whats it like the Rhino? Has the rust come off?
-
Cool, get some pics up 8) :daumenhoch:
-
Well I originally wanted it basically for the wheels crank/BB and headset which are heading straight on my Mk1 Pro Burner ;).
But it's a nice little bike and a project for the future. Tange Seiki bottom bracket, Sugino cromo crank dated 83, shot gun II seat, Tange seat clamp, fluted straight seat post, orig CW large bars.
Nearly all the rust has come off, a couple of areas will need a soak and the chrome on the seat post is buggered so that will need a rechrome at a later date as will the bars.
It'll be stickered with the Rhino 3 decals , as the Falcon ones don't do the quality of the F+F justice. Even the forks have a weird tappering.
Steven
