About a year or so ago my brother Simon's labourer bought an Ammaco frame at a local car boot and it turned out to be PeterJ's original bike - he had the serial number recorded somewhere and it was the actual bike. Talk about over the moon......
Dozy fool still hasn't finished building it mind :LolLolLolLol:
My original Mongoose Cali has my post code stamped on it, so if you ever find one with B63 at the start, then call me
-
excellent! i know what you mean. a few years ago i was able to buy back an old bike of mine. it hadnt moved very far but it was still a great feeling. the chap had just let it gather dust in his kitchen then let it rust when it got relegated to the back garden. seatpost was seized in but i managed to get it out then sandblast, re-powder and re-decal and its better than when i sold it.
-
Cool, If anyone comes across aTorker with an IG11 post code LMK
-
I would love my old Holmes back, but I suspect it got scrapped by my dad (left it at his and then fell out with him), most of my other frames I destroyed so long gone.
-
i scored a lott of bikes but this is my best score ever
And thats the os spirit
i see poeple start collecting os bikes whit no back ground in the 80s and only doing it for the pension funds $$$
but they cant seperate a pro raider from a pro racer sort of speak
-
i wouldn't want any of my old bikes back as i snapped them all, apart from one which was a burner. :2funny:

Great stuff Dan you must be well excited to get it back! ;)

I have a Supergoose 3 its in amazing original condition but what is best about it is the first owner carefully scratched his name and address on the BB. So if Ian Sadler of Oldbury West Mids is reading this I have your Mongoose. He also scratched Ian 4 Clare I wonder if he still has her? RMB76

Doesn't matter what bits are on it. Just the fact that it's your childhood ride makes it sweet as.
Most of us arn't lucky enough but it's always a great buzz to see it happen to someone. :coolsmiley:

I do like a mkl burner with CW's - never been a fan of V's really. that looks lovely, i'd slap a set of repro decals on it and ride it hard, too much history there to restore it imo. Oh and all the burner boys will be fighting over those tyres!!
