Title: Birkenhead BMX track refurb
Post by: sam hudson on June 28, 2011, 04:48 PM
Has anyone else discussed this yet?...from 'teenwirral.com':

"Young people are to benefit from latest 'Funds For You' support

A £3,500 grant from Wirral Council's 'Funds For You' initiative will ensure that teenagers and young people using The Arno and Oxton Fields have a place to call their own.

The grant to the Friends of the Arno and Oxton Fields, which represents 50 per cent of the cost of the scheme, will enable them to refurbish and improve the existing BMX track in the park and create equipment and seating near the track, creating an area for that will be ideal for teenagers."

The track was rubbish BITD but this is a good opportunity to create a new improved version but £7k doesn't sound like a lot to build a track (trust me there is very little of use remaining on site).  ???
