1997 Haro Shredder Deluxe - gold metal flake.
I owned this bike in 1998 until 2000. Just tracked down the guy I sold it to and got it back off him... had to laugh as he said when he brought it I had put it in a shop window with a note on that said 'Need to sell to buy pram'!
Needs a good clean and a new freewheel but its in real good condition for a bike thats been in constant use. Gonna swap a few bits around and get riding it again after 10 years. There's only one on the museum and thats not got any decals :-) maybe 'cause all the other broke :daumenhoch:

Cool :)
I put this bike together back in 98 when a skateshop I hung around gave up selling bmx stuff and let me build some bits that were left into a bike - I had no idea - I just grabbed stuff that looked cool and wacked it on to be a rider.
Was a bit puzzled as to why the Haro tyres had gone...? Apparently the guy who had it lent it to a mate for a few years but his missus had caught him cheating and slashed the bike tyres  when she found out it wasn't her (ex) boyfriends bike she brought some new tyres for it :LolLolLolLol:

Just sold the bars for £85.... :)
Didn't realise there were less than 40 sets made though
They went to a good home on here and I avoided 'theBay' so I'm happy :daumenhoch:

yep they are fine Jim :daumenhoch:
I was a bit concerned about them to start with but I've given the one on my Sport a good thrashin and its been fine. It slips a bit side to side if I try and chuck my 14st at a framewhip but I shouldn't have greased the fooker when I put it in ::)
never had the bars move though :)

nice one ed - result :daumenhoch:

got it all stripped down and doing a clean and rebuild now - nothing major on the resto front - just a clean survivor
Got a Haro padded seat off of Norty40 and new tyres & grips - swapped the bars and thats your lot.
I know they aren't the best bike in the world but there isn't another complete with decals about that I can find 8)

this one was from the skateshop 'Casino' Rich... when they dabbled in bikes for a bit.
Pete ( who owns Wellgosh ) got a few BMX bits in to Casino when it was in the Malcolm Arcade around 97/98 but Andy who ran the shop was such a skate purist that it never really worked... so they cleared the stuff out at cost and I built this up from the bits... I still cannot figure how such a rare pair of bars got to a tiny skateshop in Leicester... less than 40 pairs made apparently!

I like 'em :daumenhoch: - had a go on one bitd that my mate had and quite liked the geometry. Ok, you don't have the individual build quality of a Standard or S&M from the same period, but they're still a rare bike nowadays as they were still top-mid range :)
I'd kill to get me hands on a OG green Mongoose Fuzz from the same year - had a go on one at some trails once and it rode like a dream :)
