Well, RADsters,
The reason I got back into riding kids' bikes at the age of 39 was to build the bike my parents could never afford. I started - as many of us do - with a NOS Aero Reflex build, and I have been riding her ever since. However, as most of you will know, I have been working on a Koizumi made 1980 Diamond Back Pro Large.
A good few parts have been restored on this build, including several hours spent cleaning and sanding the Araya 7Xs, and a stunning annodising job on the DC890s and Pre Bent Levers by Paul at CCA. The build is era correct (with a couple of exceptions), although you could not buy this kit as-is; the new schoolers would call it a "custom build"!
I have already ridden her and she is tight, and light, as fook! :smitten:
So, here goes; hanging from the recently re-Nickled Frame and Forks, wearing Decals from Mark at Retrospect, is:
* Diamond Back Oversize Stamped Chro-Mo Bars
* A'me Rounds
* Sugino Stem (rare "Sugino" stamped clamp)
* Tange MX2 Headset
* Tange Lock Nut
* Dia Compe 890s wearing Dia Compe Pads
* Dia Compe Pre Bent Levers
* Dia Compe Cables & Cable Clips
* Sugino Mighty Competition Cranks
* MKS BM7s
* KMC Chain
* Sharp BB Boot
* Araya 7X laced to Sunshine Hubs wearing Comp IIIs
* Suntour Freewheel
* Alloy Dropout Savers
* Suntour Alloy Wheel Nuts
* Fluted Red & Silver Alloy Post
* Kashi Aero Copy Seat
* Suntour "Arrows" Post Clamp
* Repro Cali-Lite Pads courtesy of our very own Firebird
* Bucket loads of care, attention & elbow grease
* Unquantifiable love and pride

A huge "Thank you" goes out to the countless RADsters that have been involved in this bike in one way or another (you all know who you are); I couldn't have done it without you! :daumenhoch:
Have a gander...
