I have had ago at polishing as well....not to bad for a first pass with a handdrill and some mops...need to spend some more time to remove the marks near the logo and get a smother finish any tips greatly taken.. :daumenhoch:

Just had a test ride of the beat.......what a great bike, so nice to ride......nearly flipped it cause the brakes are soooooooo sh*t!!
After that, easy ride home :2funny: got them adjusted nice and central, spring even etc....cables lubed, maybe it'sthe pads(skyway copy)?...I found a few set up threads but any info on mx900/tech 4's set up greatly received! :daumenhoch:

I dont remember them being that bad, they really are rubbish, Im gonna have to change the pads to try and get em at least usable....cheers bud.
What about stodgy dave's rad clear pads , anyone used em..
-
got some of stodgy's pads but haven't tried em yet - imagine they'll still squeal like a pig tho
-
yeah they will squeel like a pig! but will stop you. remember you were only the weight of a wet paper bag at the age of 12/13 and are probably a tad heavier now ;)
great bikes though and love Beats! :smitten:
i want another one!!
-
So if you're riding it Phil, where's the latest pic then as the last one you posted is missing a few vital parts ??? :2funny:
Before you give up on the brake blocks, let them bed in a bit as they work far better than original Tuff pads but you can't adjust the rake and pitch of them like n/s blocks. They need a good run-in down a long hill mate, so give it a go.
If you bring it to MK we'll sort it out as those n/s blocks squeal like a fookin' pig mate and will drive you mad so try and get your brakes adjusted up first.......
Let's see this bad-boy then, chop-chop :knuppel2: :knuppel2:
Spen :daumenhoch:
ps - have you polished or painted the Kool Kaps white bud as they look awesome ??? :coolsmiley:
-

Will add them to my list of possible's pickle, cheers mate :daumenhoch: I'm gonna try and bed these in a bit first as spen was saying, been out ridin tonight and they bite a little better but squeel like fook at the mo :2funny: Got the adjustments spot on all moving nice and even etc so will see, now need to look at the chain which derailed off the free wheel and spat me onto the top tube :crazy2: great fun tho :daumenhoch:
-
Ok so this is pretty much finished now, just some valve caps and stunt pegs to add. A the moment I am using the Skyway ez2's as they are chrome and I like the chrome look, once the MK1 ez bars are chromed they will be put on as I prefer those.
Let me know what you think...

Thanks for the comments :daumenhoch:
Will swap the seat guts around as you say and have a look, and Spen yes, safety tyres are the order of the day as this is ridden and after seeing your pics......

Thx for comments, I really like it for a first build, may put a blue seat on as time goes if one comes up, and same with pots mod, I never built this for a show pony or bike of the month( tho could shove it in for fun) just gonna ride it now!!
Onto the next one now!!
cheers :daumenhoch:
-
Phil,
What are those tyres ?
-
Bruggers they are a pair of Exposure Dave's and are a 2.0" wide retro NS tyre that retails around a tenner a tyre :daumenhoch:
There's been a lot of chat on here about them as they are usually the rear in a set of Chaz & Dave tyres, but they are new school tech in an old school look and stick like shite to a blanket on timber ramps, and are pretty damn good on concrete too :daumenhoch:
I know as I've got a few sets and so have a number of us now, including Jaymz who was first to road test them :2funny:
-
They are a great tyre Bruggers, goods looks with good performance, just been on the concrete bowl while the locals must have been having lunch or summit, could'nt believe my luck as I cycled past and it was empty......just could'nt resist......I'm not 15 anymore thats all I'm gonna say for now :LolLolLolLol: great fun tho!!
-
looks well nice that :daumenhoch:
took mine out for a spin this arvo as well :smitten:
