What timeline am I looking at for midschool bmxing? am I looking at caliper brakes or? liking the look of some midschool bikes recently, dont think I'll ever lean towards new skool, but a sweet looking mid maybe on the cards :) is there a midschool bike gallery on here guys? thx in advance :daumenhoch:

mid school started around 1989/1990 and ended around 2002ish
there's no definitive timeline, best way to look at it is most decent 90's frames came with chainstay brake mounts, most were from rider owned companies and they were heavier/stronger and could have 1in or 1/18th external headsets
take a look on http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/ pick a brand your interested in and they go through the years until you come to the 1990's

I like to think Midschool ended with U.S. bottom brackets myself....
See if you can get hold of a ox platinum Standard from around 2000ish, quality bike.

Well that red bike does absolutely nothing for me? :-\ I dont think I'm ever gonna like new skoolies? they all look the same? I think I'm probably feeling the love for early mid school bikes, anybody got any favorite examples of this type :daumenhoch:

Haro Airmaster I suppose, that's an unusual looking thing with a bashguard. Cool though.

new school can look good/mid, well to me it can :daumenhoch:

if you want early mid then look for 1in headset s&m's, standards & bashguard haro's etc...

new bikes are where its at to ride. thats a common complaint but the way i see it, all 80s bikes look the same. nothing has really changed....
you can build a bike anyway you want it to look......

For me Brother
The Two companies that most represent what happened in the Mid-skool era are S&M and Standard Bykes.
The look was usually painted frame with chrome bars and forks and some times Tin Foil.
Here's some of mine.
S&M HOLMES

Check out the Bikes S&MAlex builds.
They are Hardcore Mid-skool.
Exactly how a lot of bikes really looked in that Era.
