Title: Parts you don't need/won't use?
Post by: Betty on July 18, 2011, 09:06 PM: We've all got parts stashed away, but what have you got that you know you'll never use but can't be arsed to throw out/sell?

Don't turn it into a for sale thread.... :D

I'll start...

Frames... S&M LTF frames x2 one cracked, nowt wrong with the other
Macneil bibi cracked, headtube about to part company with downtube... scrap
Odyssey director forks
One GT profile crank arm (right)
Sprockets.... profile SS, ripsaw, trifan, TNT retro blade, Redline flight
Pedals... victor dx's x2, haro dx, S&M, DMR, Odyssey
Tyres.... too many, several pairs of comp 3's, Primos, KHE, duo
Brakes... Pitbull x2, ad990
Levers... DC tech 3, tech77
Pegs.... several part worn pairs
Number plates both used and unused
S&M seats, a few seat posts
A few incomplete headsets
One skyway wheel (front)
A few new school wheels
One peregrine semi pro hub (front)

Thats all i can think of without going for a look... :crazy2:

Why the fook do i keep all this shite.... :D

What have you lot got that you should really get rid of?

Ive just got a load of low end shlte that's all going to the tip when i move

few cheap frames,forks/bars from bikes i bought just for wheels
few opc's
chainwheels
loads of very used brake blocks!!!
brake cable outers that are just a bit too short for fronts!!
enough plastic pedals to make a raft out of
and its total shlte and really does need throwing in the bin, I bet i coundnt give it away!!

Post by: stidds on July 18, 2011, 09:33 PM: I have just gone through my spares and I have built 2 full bikes. One an oldschool freestyler (god knows where I picked up a freestyle frame) and a new school race bike. The only thing I bought was a pair of grips for the newschool.

I still have 4 or 5 boxes of spares, but small things like brake parts, washers etc. Oh and I have loads and loads of spokes and nipples.

Had an abundance of gear I just had to give away like odd hubs, knackered seatposts, bits of BB's and headsets, odd brake calipers I gave away and then found the other to make a pair, ones and threes of brake blocks waiting to find the last one, bolts that I have no idea if they fit Flights or not but I'm not gonna chance they don't, rusty spokes from stripping wheels down... The list is endless but I haven't stumbled onto a spare Haro Gen 1 or anything else worth more than fook all like I'd hoped I would ;-)

Post by: MartyC on July 19, 2011, 04:30 PM: I have quite a bit of stuff that I doubt will get used and some of it I would just like to keep but I can see a clear out coming of some bars, maybe a seat or two, a stem, maybe some tyres, a pair of Tuffs, pedals, brakes, but then again I may just get the urge to build another bike and won't have any parts if I do get rid!

i have yellow and red skyways - 4 sets in need of a resto - 6 sets of polished tech 3's - loads of nos cable - dyno fork standers - tires - more mags - decals - more polished parts - pedals

now the trouble is i also have 7 builds that i am slowly getting through - each ttime a part comes up it gets dibbed for a build - it's a bit like Lego - i have all the bits, just nothing built :2funny:
