Title: Number 2 of 5....nearly done. 1985 GT World Tour
Post by: WINI on July 21, 2011, 09:07 PM
Right then, this was the first 'serious' build I've attempted and I've been at it for well over a year now.  Bought the F&F, Tuffs, bars, post and chainwheel/disc from eBay in a right state.  Seatpost had to be blow torched out by the previous owner and looked a bit of a mess but I got the correct code and had the metal parts stripped and powdered.  Tuffs were stripped and bleached, and the rest of the parts I've been tracking down from all corners of the bloody globe.  This was the pic that set me off, and I tried to get as close as poss to without breaking the bank, hence it is missing one or two of the era correct parts (seat is GT but too new, non GT headset...)

Still a few tweaks to make but my impatience got the better of me, so here's the nearly finished beastie.  Needs some MX decals for the calipers and some endcaps for the pedals, then its done! I'll get better pics up when its complete.  Hope you like  :daumenhoch:
