Quality!! no wonder he brole so many of those Haros :4_17_5:
-
Foook me he's harder than Diggler
-
I was at Mansfield to see this. His riding was amazing. At one point he blew out his tyre and got on another riders bike with the brakes the wrong way round. And still busted out 14ft airs. Totally unreal. Top video nice to see it from a different angle. Stu

Superb. Jeeeeezus hoffman went high. The 900 slam & the flair slam were both so nasty, It's a wonder he went back for more. Great filming/editing, like the chap above says, fantastic to see that from a different angle for the first time. Cheers dude.

Great footage, a really amazing demo. No one else had a chance that day, all anyone wanted to see was Hoffman. I felt a bit sorry for the UK BMXers riding, and even more so for the skaters. They were almost BOO'ed off.
R.A.D. magazine really wound me up with its coverage. A really cool sequence of the flair, but they said it was "as good as Hawk doing a 900". Its a totally different trick ... and Matt did a 900 as well!!! FFS!

Bosh.
For those of you that might not know, that ramp had a few colour schemes over the years, and a few names. It wasn't a huge ramp, and didn't have a whole lot of vert either. Makes Mats riding even more impressive.
It's the same ramp that went on to take his shoulder a year or so later at the Rider Cup when he had that massive slam - flair to headtube hang more or less
-
Was it the Swatch/Invert/Skateboard mag ramp?
-
Indeed. Also known as the Team Extreme ramp, also seen at most of the Backyard outdoor jams of the mid 90s. That ramp has had every fcuker on it! Mucho history.
-
Mucho history indeed! I've got to say I'd still rather watch The Condor go straight up & down on a halfpipe than most others who carve all over it.
-
Amazing Rider :daumenhoch:
-
:4_17_5: yep amazing , real guts , it was hurting just watching them offs but he kept doing again and again till it was done , no fear , an absolute legend :daumenhoch:
-

Agreed. Equally, I'd happily sit all day and watch Jerry Galley do back to back basic airs. Some people just ride in a manner that makes you stop and stare.

was that the same ramp as spitfields as if so the only ramp i ever pulled 540`s on and never could do them on other ramp`s
great video and a legend in my eyes
-
The Rider Cup was held at Spitalfields yes. This is a little before my time though, I didn't start back again till 94 and Spitalfields was gone by then, but to my knowledge it never had a permanent vert ramp.
You'd like Skaterham vert ramp in all probability, 11ft high, 1ft of vert only. Nice friendly ramp.
-
i could never air out of caterham ramp but did at spitfields but then i was younger then with no balls ;D
-
thanks for the comments guys. i could do a new edit of this again with footage filmed from a different angle i got off Dave Young. side ways on so you really see how much air he was getting.
