Title: Stopping power
Post by: WINI on August 04, 2011, 09:29 PM
So I have a set of Oddy 2000's on my newly assembled rider, which has araya rims.  The 2000's came with Oddy mag type blocks, which couldn't stop Shyte.  Any suggestions on some decent and not too pricy blocks to look out for?

Cheers  :daumenhoch:

Mark,

Best blocks available for any sort of rim are, IMHO, Xposure Bachelor Pads.....  ;)

http://www.winstanleysbmx.com/product/27009/Xposure_Bachelor_BrakePads_Pair (http://www.winstanleysbmx.com/product/27009/Xposure_Bachelor_BrakePads_Pair)

Screechy, true, but stop new tuffs on a sixpence (almost!) AND you get to colour coordinate 'em with your build!  :daumenhoch:

See you at MK, doodage!

If you can put up with the squealing fella [ saying that ive never rode them on rims just mags] I have a pair in blue and a pair in green if you want, been ridden 3 times, they are clear just the inserts are coloured

Chuck em in the car Jaymz mate, I'll buy a pair off you.  Blue or green will do the job  :daumenhoch:

Nice result, Winny!  ;)

For the record, it was Jay who put me onto these squeelers, and they are great.  :4_17_5:

Oh, and by the way, they look pretty sweet AND have multi-plane adjustment for maximum surface contact!  :daumenhoch:

Gotta love that new school design and engineering!  :smitten:

Rich i found one way to lessen the squeak and that was by towing them in slightly, as they are long pads they flex a bit so if you toe them the fronts start to grip and then the pressure is spead as you squeeze harder. Ive got them set up like this on my KHE

The only pressure I'll be applying will be round ya fookin throat Rich you cheeky twat! ;-)

You know I lure you to dodgy car-parks so I can re-build your bikes so you can ride them without them falling appart mate, and don't deny it!

I need to get some more more new school tech on my Badlander so a full set of these squealing fookas in blue is on my MK shopping list so who's got some then? Will Stodgy have them for sale?

Fook, only one more sleep till MK kidz... Can't wait, I just need to get my wheels picked up from the LBS, finish my copper Goose and get the car packed with bikes & booze and I'm sorted >;-)
