i remember seeing that a while back and said to myself that one sweet ride :)

Lovely bike that, good job. What bars are they?
-
I used to see loads of Torkers BITD but sadly none were mine. :(
The kids round the corner rode for Alan Woods, so they got Torkers then Robinsons - or it might have been the other way around. Anyhoo, one of them apparently works in my building, so I might drop him a mail and see if he's still got any.
-
Nice bike mate but I'm 99% sure they didn't make the 280X in 86....

Yes, it's a great looking bike, I'm sure it's a Pro X...

It came from Julian Hammond. When i got it it was straight from the shop old stock and had different 280X stickers on it. I changed them for the earlier ones cos i prefer them. I should have kept them or took a photo i guess. The geometry it totally different from the Pro-X.
The only thing that remains from the original bike is the seat and cranks but it came with copy 890's with tech 3 levers, copy 1.75 comp IIIs, copy Gaphite X pedals and weinman rims all black and chrome. The parts point to mid 80's and julian knew his Torkers but if you can prove him wrong Andy i'd gladly take it on board.

Torker with Tuffs. Bloody lovely combination. Nice job all round. Especially on finding the pads they're a nightmare to get.
-
Cheers ;)
The pads are Haro 1's though :(
-
I believe this is the mark 2 280X, similar to the freestyle versions below:
Needs pads though like the ones below... (Wonder who owns this beauty?? LOL)

BTW may sell, but for stupid money - so if you won the lottery make me an offer!
I have seen Bobs bike in the flesh, and believe me it is even better - the pic doesn't do it justice! Looks like it just came out of a shop!!
-
You decided you may sell it now..... I spend nearly £700 putting together a Torker and now he decides he may want to sell ::) lmao
