I am well aware of the 'Bar-Angle-Disease' that plagues the Burner Community... I've been handing out self help leaflets for the past 6 years... :crazy2:

Burner bar angles are set forward to compensate for the . . . erm . . . the way they bend backwards at the grips (I'm sure there is a term) and for the tiny short frames. Also they look even further forward because of the very relaxed head angle.
It quite a strange frame design really, angles wise.
If they could have just copied the Mongoose angles . . . . who knows where BMX in the UK would be today.

Sweep...

Sweep...
Sweep that's it! Anyway, there is the reason for the forward bars.
Also people used to think that forward bars are good for endos. It is actually the opposite.
-
old school bar angles will always look shit, trouble is the frames geometry is designed for a smallish framed kid, so, some fully grown bloke gets sentimental and decides he wants a slice of reminiscent pie and builds one up, the only way he can physically ride it is to push the bars forward,
the daft bugger hasn't realized it doesn't work like that,it looks fooking awful and makes the bike handle like shit,
line the bars up with the forks or fook off.
what the fook is going on with the brake??
is that an ad990 on there? did they even make a u-brake in 1986?
-
sure did Joe, they came with them on the MKII.
I have an 87 one in chrome and black which has 990 mounts on the rear just like that :daumenhoch:

The ad says it is the original paint. ???
This bike has never been painted
There is one scratch on the top of the frame and some of the stickers are beginning to come away
It looks like one the complete/boxed bikes that Alans used to sell...
-
Yeah this is original by the looks of it, it's not one of those in Dans thread as they don't have the AD990 mounts on the chainstays.
-
how can it have never been painted? :LolLolLolLol:

-
viceroy + TA Stickers = ebay sucker
-
yep could have cleaned up.lol
-
Skyway should make a new TA, instead of fannying around with those awful new six spoked wheels
-
they was supposed to make a complete new skyway bmx. seems they are more interested in doin repops. with a lot of the new bikes having skyway wheels i think now would be a good time to get back into it. but would have to agree shoot the designer of the new 6 spoke
-
There's a new 6 spoke wheel?
