Was this the really old forum, where somebody asked what a looptail was? ;D
-
Yeh TFB!
I had a look through the old sales section and found some crackers!
But then it doesn't seem like yesterday that Alans was selling complete old school Haros with tuffs etc for about £250 a pop.
It wasn't yesterday though . . . it was over 10 years ago :(
Back in the mid-late 90's ACS was still selling Z Rims and Z mags too.
There was a ton of old school stuff about then, but then . . . it was like just 10 year old tat that was not much good for riding on!
We wanted fat tubes!! 1 inch deep rims!!

Yeah mate i know............but its more realistic than looking in them old mags from the 80s......them prices dont seem real :LolLolLolLol:
You know what else is funny back then in 2005 ....they used to moan about the prices ;D

Some of the prices people are asking for parts on this forum nowadays are staggering.
I know there is supply and demand, and "rarity" but there is also fleecing your mates.
Not all of the prices though, I hasten to add.

No mate your entitled to a little rant ............getting more like the 80s everyday were only the rich kids from private housing estates could afford anything better than a burner ;D
I had many a burner until i saved , swapped and fixed my way up to a TA :LolLolLolLol:
And just another point but have you seen the tat in the for sale section wtf are some people on in here..............fooooking glue me thinks
I think i will put a nice oil stained haro lightning bolt brake caliper cover in there and ask for £500 :LolLolLolLol:
A hobby thats killing itself slowly lol dont think prices will go any further now............but maybe

dont think prices will go any further now............but maybe
We thought that 5 years ago.
Now it seems even a Burner is a "wallet build"
There are, however, still some bargains to be had - cruise the car boots, sift through the junk at the tip etc.
There are still thousands of undiscovered gems sitting in people's sheds.

yEah your right there ruler graham, when i worked for the council as an hgv mechanic i used to get breakdown all the time up the tip as they tend to drive like rally drivers in them big ten wheelers...........and woo i seen many a bashed in bmx bike..........tons and tons of burners ...........once i even pulled one out a tip lorry a super tuff and blow up the tyres and was pulling wheelies all over the workshop lol i could have taken any of them as the guys on the lorries did not care but this was early 2000 and i thought then my bmx days were over .....did not even know there was a revival or anything or that guys over the age of 18 were still riding..........when i found out that was a real head foooook ;D

There's a tip right near me, next to the Leicester Tigers training ground in a posh part of Leicester(yes there is actually posh parts of Leicester ;D) but of course they don't sell things unless they know you. >:(
