i've done it .. it comes out fine. the chromers will polish the frame anyway before it goes through the chroming process :daumenhoch:

my 83 gt pro was originally chrome,i bought it from cupid stunt with it powdered black then i had it rechromed, the result was amazing, however i then set about stripping a white t.a in its original finish and then had that rechromed, basically where the tubes had never been polished because theres no need with paint it was so rough and the chromers couldnt be arsed/bothered/couldnt get into all the inside edges i ended up with a half chrome half silver frameset,i could have cried, youve been warned!! :-[

The secret (or not so secret ;D) to a good chrome finish is all in the preperation work before hand. You can have a fantastic chromers who really know their sh1t BUT if the prep work before hand is sh1te then the chrome results will be sh1te...
The same goes with annodising as well, the better the prep work before hand the better the finished results will be ;)

If the frame is heavily pitted beneath the powder, your chromer might struggle with the polishing. I guess the only way to find out how good/bad it is, is by stripping the thing. :)
