ordered few of bits from alans only to be told 3 days after 1 item was not in stock-ok fair enough-i emailed them and said ok just send the other bits and cancel part that is not in stock, no email and that was 2 weeks ago-phoned them today only to be told that it was my fault for changing my order :wtf: WHY DO SHOPS SELL STUFF THAT IS NOT IN STOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! will NEVER be ordering from there again and to be honest with shops like this and customer service that is seriously shocking they derserve to go under and let the people that know how to run a business do so-at times like this with a economic downturn you would have thought they would have bent over backwards to keep their customers happy :-\

thats a shame if Alans has gone that way, :buck2:
never had a problem myself, they always used to deliver next day, no issues
-
Just had a similar issue with Alans. Bought a Gyro and it asked to pick colour (Black or silver). Chose black as that is what I needed, but when I get it, its chrome. I rang through and he said that that was the choice for the colour of the cables.....don't think so mate. Fair enough he offered to refund me though, think it was an honest mistake

I just bought a gyro cable from Winstanleys the other day. It arrived super quick, with free delivery.
So I don't think Winstanleys is bad.
Alans has always been ok in the past. In my experience anyway.
-
The few bits (4 or 5 orders) I've had from Winstanleys have all been ok, I do try to keep it to 2 or 3 items though, i'd rather make 2 seperate orders than confuse their picking monkies!!
Can't comment on Alans service after order, but they have been none too helpful on the few occasions I have phoned.
-
Alans has been pretty sh*t for a while now, not to mention incredibly expensive.
-
Radbmx shop or Liferbmx....job done :daumenhoch:
-
the last 3 things iv'e bought from winstanleys were here super quick and free postage.

trust me a gyro cable from those monkeys is not too testing, anything more complcated like certain
brake sets, wheel sets ect and your fooked and that happened to me a good few times, w@nkers >:(

I've been dealing with alans for 11 years now and never had one problem.
-
i live in Wigan and Alans has done me proud many many times, cant comment on their mail order coz i dont use it. Ask for mark if you ever ring em hes on the ball :daumenhoch:. Winstanleys their another story they cant find the front door never mind a bmx part .
-
ive never had a problem with winstanleys, never bought from alans cos they advertise you can use paypal and when i did try to buy a few times from them they wanted card details..... fook that!!!!! oh tell a lie ive bought from alans a few times through ebay, rip off with there postage and took over a week :yahoo_silent:
-
As dick jiggler said, LiferBMX or Rad have never fooked stuff up for me, but always had ok service from Alan's, just expensive on the post if you only buy a few bits.
Porkchop is as fast as most other UK places too don't forget!
-
Problems with Winstanley's are legendary on rad just search it..... :-\s
All businesses fgoookm orders up from time to time :)
Winstanley may have improved their game as they were getting massive amounts of complaints.........the biggest advertiser in the uk too with around 4 pages in ride bmx in any given month ???

to be fair, i took a gamble on one of their £59 frames last year and it arrived within 48 hours and was exactly what i ordered
i was flabberghasted i can tell you

They have them again pickles fly diablo etc etc

RAD or Lifer.
At least with those two you'll always get an honest answer and no flannel.
And it's nice to keep it in the family, so to speak :daumenhoch:

I have used Winstanleys a couple of times recently and they have been spot on and super fast too.
Maybe they listened to their customers and have improved their customer service
-
Tried using Alans via phone on a couple of occasions and found them to be downright rude, their customer service is shocking to say the least. I have also bought a NOS Revcore mini stem via Ebay from them and it was nothing like the condition the listing said, couldn't be arsed returning it so just left negative feedback. Idiots in my opinion.
-
I used Alan's a few years back. Ordered Haro Freestyle Kneesavers and received the race versions... apparently, that's "all they had".... Kept em in the end, because I didn't think the returns procedure would go well and used them for a different project.
-
Alans used to be great bitd,I suppose if you still live local there still ok?,Allan is never in/available to speak to on the phone? ::) most of the people that work there no fook all? The prices are rising up and up wont be long before there in Biagio-Ego territory! true to form they are just cashing in on whats left now :( although whats left in stock in his Dad's secret back room remains to be seen ::) sorry for me Allans dont cut it anymore? sad cos he is a good chap :daumenhoch:
