Looks lovely :daumenhoch: - would love one of these (as a b-day pressie to meself) but no cashola for 2 weeks.......hmmmm....
Are the frames on the completes different around the seat-stay - seattube area, n the drops? Different metal (not air-grade 4130?)
-
The completes are mild-steel and based on the normal entry level bike - they do not use the aftermarket frame.
-
very nice, have been pestering mr wingham to get one :daumenhoch:
-
frame actually looks pretty cool, nice touches from the original condors,
not sure about the mild steel completes though, seems a bit of a lesson in pointlessness,
-
Couldn't agree more Joe - I think the complete devalues everything the Condor stands for...and almost makes the anniversary frame less special.
Hey oh, can't win em all.
-
Agreed as far as the completes are concerned. Also the geometry of the anniversary frame doesn't really scream "Condor", is Mat riding One on vert?
-
Yep, we wanted a 74.5 degree headangle!
But Mat fancied a 75 this time round.
-
Are they releasing matching forks and bars for the frame option Dave? :)
-
Yep, we wanted a 74.5 degree headangle!
But Mat fancied a 75 this time round.
Sod the HT, at least they sorted out the ST angle
-
The seattube angle got more "normal" as the years went on, the last Condors (06 to 09) had a 70 degree seattube :daumenhoch:
-
any news on when the frames are arriving??
-
Yummy

-
That is nice, but I can see those huge 4mm thick dropouts giving people problems!
-
frame arrived this morning and it's better than i expected :smitten: cheers stodgy :daumenhoch:
my boy had to be in on it :)

Nice :daumenhoch: it's bright! Is that the 21"? Stick a pic up of the dropout area if You can Please.
-
yeah it's a 21"
i'll get some dropout pics up tomorrow for you :daumenhoch:
-
Looks nice built up... :4_17_5:
Odd choice of TT lengths, 20.25" and 21"... :-\
They should have done a 20.5" and 20.75" n all
Liking the 75 degree HT though... :daumenhoch:
-
The more I look at these the more I'm liking them 8) The geo & the thin dropouts was what made Me think Twice about getting the reissue, I was hoping it would have the "normal for a Condor" low 11.25 b/b & 74 h/a etc, as I've noticed the higher b/b's that most frames have nowadays seem to make My back hurt more. I've had to stop riding an S&M at the moment because of this.

Taller bars and a top load stem will sort that out :daumenhoch:
That's what I thought as well Glen, I've tried 8.6" bars with a top load, spacers, tried different t/t sized frames, I'll be able to open a freakin bike shop soon with all the extra stuff I've got :LolLolLolLol: still it persists, I just don't have the suppleness in My lower back now & I'm sort of hunched over funny & noticed the lower b/b's help with that. Maybe if I can get My butt out & ride more it may free it up a bit but at the moment it's killing Me after about 30 minutes!

Ride more, and excersize your lower back. Do stretching and warm up properly first. I dont think fractions of an inch lower BBs would make any difference to back pain
Good advice :daumenhoch: I do try but when it's ok I tend to forget about looking after it properly! I'm a little overweight at the moment too due to lack of exercise & tablets I'm on which isn't helping. With a lower b/b I sort of feel more in the bike, rather than perched over it if You get what I mean?!
Sorry for the hijack Ian, back to Your Condor! Your littl'un is coming on well :daumenhoch:

I was going to bang this together on Saturday with the bits I have here, but after getting the frame I think it needs a full on build up including chrome forks & bars, so it might not be together until next week :daumenhoch:
Does look the nuts! might have to give Dave a call! :D
Cheers :daumenhoch: it is indeed the dogs, HB pulled out the stops on this One, It's really well built :smitten: I was in Two minds about them before but so glad I got it.
If You want One better be quick as I think they're nearly all gone.
Looks nice, what length did you go for?
It's an awesome frame! 21" t/t :daumenhoch:

-
That looks awesome! :daumenhoch:
-
That look so nice compared to a lot of new school bikes of today. A throw back to class.
-
great to see a few more built up.i've never been a fan of chrome but i actually think the chrome ones look nicer. :daumenhoch: those 4 piece bars really set it off too.kind of wish Hoffman did an updated version of the patriot bar to go with this frame.
-
I think it's probably the nicest frame I've ever had! I'm glad I went with chrome after usually having painted stuff, My last shiny frame was My '97 EP & I also think they look better than the Blue for some reason :daumenhoch: Those Bonedeth bars are are pretty much a Lowdrag copy with a slightly bigger crossbar.
-
I must agree the Chrome ones do look realy good, I think the best looking Chrome frame in a long time :)
-
Lovely looking bikes there people! Still speccing some of the parts for mine, was gonna go blue then decided chrome now am not sure again! God dammit
Cheers Paul

I know there's another thread with a few pics but thought i'd refresh it, i'll put some more snaps up when the weather sorts it's life out !
-
A bike shop not far from me has got one in their window at the moment. It's about 300 from what I remember.
Have the complete bikes got a different frame to the frame sets or have I read that wrong somewhere?
-
Yeah the anniversary frames are different around the rear drop outs. No gusset on the cheap completes. And the frame only model is full 4130 chromoly. Where as the completes are heavier hi tensile steel. :daumenhoch:
Hoffman has been doing cheap starter condors for a few years. These just get redecalled every year. It's so the young newbies can have a nice entry level bike that has a pedigree. But the more aware riders that know about their bikes would opt for the pro level one that comes as a frame set only. ;)
-
they bikes look so good........ :daumenhoch:
-
Here you go, as promised, some more aniversary photos.
