Title: question about gyro cables....
Post by: griff on September 16, 2011, 09:06 PM
bought some gyro cables ages ago and with T1 tomorrow thought I'd better finally fit them
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/ss208/splitsecondimports/Miscellaneous%20products/SSTDualLowerCable.jpg)
now it was only once I'd pulled the manky old ones off that I noticed the new ones appear to be about 8 inches too long  ::)

thought I'd got the right ones (didn't see sizing options when I got them), but both ends of the housing appear to be fairly solidly finished off - before I risk fooking them up is it ok to trim these down?

they're supposed to be going on this

thanks in advance for any advice

cheers

griff

Remove the inners from the housing first  :daumenhoch: If you can bro, just pull the metal end sleeves of the housing, trim it to length, and replace the sleeves  :daumenhoch:

If not, just trim and fit and the will work fine bro  :coolsmiley:

thanks mate - at first glance I didn't think I'd get the end thingies off without cutting them off

my pliers are a bit shite so will see if uncle spen or hootski can bring their snippers down

cheers

uppers are staying where they are

lowers are 2 separate cables that go through one guide & then feed into the little bracket that attaches to the downtube (see the pic of the bike ;))
