My 12 year old wants a new BMX for general riding, he's got a redline flight XL rece bike that he uses at the track and races on and has been ripping round the village on it, but he now wants a park/dirt/freestyle bike to ride when hes not on the track and out with his mates on there WTP, Eastern, Uniteds, I haven't got a clue what to suggest, hes got a GT performer 2007 That sits in the shed but weighs a ton, should I try and get a eBay new school frame and forks cheap and transfer the GT parts over or get a complete, money's tight as I've got 3 boys racing and the 5 year old needs a new 20" race bike before 2012 season starts as he's outgrown his 20". bloody kids bikes :LolLolLolLol:

My lad had a weighty GT and I did just that, picked up a sweet aluminium flatland frame and swapped all the parts over, he loves it

Yea I am thinking that's the way to go jaymz, all the parts would clean up nice, theres a new school frame in the FS section but don't know nothing about it, also seen a fit bike PRK 2010 model brand new for 350!!!! It's light at 24 pounds, his brothers got the 16" version, also anyone know much about the redline complete freestyle bikes?

Do something like buy a new frame, then transfer all the bits, but buy a 9t rear wheel, 3pc cranks, 25t sprocket and pedals, bars and that. You don't need to buy brand new and I have a chrome 10t chrome rear rim with salt hub if you're interested? :daumenhoch:

Have a look over on Talk, Kai Reviee was selling a complete Fit bike he won for £250 I think, He might not be around at the moment as he has just had both knee's operated on :)
