Thought I'd post up some pics of my bro's rechromed 1983 Kuwahara Laserlite. Purchased from a member off here a little while ago. Don't think this had a hard life as dropouts are mint and perfect. :daumenhoch:

very nice,who rechromed it?? ???
-
Hockley Chrome, Essex, re-chromed the F&F and the decals came from "DEL".
He waited about 2 months to get it back, but they were waiting on new polishing equipment to arrive to do things like frame sets and to do the hard to get to areas. He was a bit dubious about getting a rechrome because for example he did not want the knurling or the K polished out on the drop outs, also the stamping on the bottom bracket removed. But I must say I was surprised how good it came out and that all the stamping was kept. The photo of the rear dropout just goes to show how good it came out.

that looks stunning look forward to the build :smitten: question tho, do they strip off old chrome before the re chrome im guessing yes but just wondered :daumenhoch:
-
Yes, they do strip the chrome before rechrome. They have 2 ways of doing it a slow dip or quick dip, he opted for the slow dip which was more expensive, but worth it.

hats off to hockley then for investing in some kit for polishing those hard to reach areas, ive had a huge gripe with hockley but if they are bothered enough to invest in some kit then i will glady send my stuff to them again :coolsmiley:

if he ever wants to sell it. lmk
i'm after a good chrome one.
-
know he has no plans to build it at present (he's wraped up and stored it away).
I don't think he would sell it as it took he a long time to find one as good as this.

-
Yes Andy, did'nt know if you wanted me to quote you. Thanks for selling it to him :daumenhoch:
It was a hard decission as the frame was perfect, but he wanted the chrome blinging. Seeing it in the flesh he made the right decision. He even got the forks done too. :smitten:
