Title: The rider
Post by: oldtired on September 25, 2011, 11:23 AM
so as you know we spend ages looking for the right piece of kit to come along ,  drop on nice example through a chance meeting or being lucky enough to be the winning bidder,   was looking for something to build as a rider for about a year or so and the search ended quite quickly over the space of  a couple of weeks due to one of the scenario's above , ended up with a nice original survivour , was built up with components that suited the purpose ie not era/factory correct but useable ,    now its been ridden and i like it but, the problems that come with the mechanics of an old bike and a definate change in the way i ride, (older and fatter now  ;D)   not like i remember riding in the past, means its a bit .......pha.........  this  has persuaded me change to somthing a little newer although not gone to the dark side that is new school ........yet ?

so now i've got a nice piece of kit that will probably not get used again ,  i don't think i've got the inclinatiion and definatly not got the bank ballence to restore it to factory spec , and i don't think i would like to see it as carpet warmer anyhow ,

advice then  would you move it on and let someone else enjoy it for a bit or store it away for x amount of years,  ?

don't want to part with it but then what is the point of it beeing in a box gathering dust

just can't decide  :-\  :LolLolLolLol:

C'mon Jim, spill the beans  ;)

Personally, I'd get rid.  Done the same thing with two of mine recently.  Love em but can't justify having em sat doing nowt
