Title: Haro Update Now with Tuffs
Post by: brettypeeps on October 26, 2011, 08:23 PM
1987 Haro FST

FST or SPORT you decide
Although this Frame was sold as a 1987 Haro FST the serial number and Geometry say it is an 1986 Haro Sport. Note there is no wrap around on the head tube as you would expect and the top tube length says it is a Sport.  I love these old school anomalies.  The Decals are as it left the Factory and appear to be mismatched with the frame and forks.
I Aquired the Frame and Forks NOS and have yet to be ridden.
The parts list
NOS Haro Frame & Forks
NOS Haro Fork standers
Haro Freestyle Bars
Haro Stem
Haro Fluted Layback with Viscount Dominator Seat
NOS DC 880 with the Tech 6 Levers and Locking Buttons and an Oddy Gyro
NOS DC Hinged Seat clamp
Minty Skyway Tuff 2's with Suntour Coaster Hub
NOS Comp ST Tyres 20x1.75
Minty Sugino CT 175 Cranks and a Haro uni-directional chain wheel
NOS Shimano SX pedals
NOS KMC Chain and a YST Black Headset
NOS Black and Grey Bubble font Ame Duals

Well I have been playing with this here and there

The Z's are two nice to ride so I have sold them to Richie and I will either put a set of black coaster tuffs or the Arayas off my GL on her :daumenhoch:
The cranks are getting swapped to some Sugino CT 175.  I am not loving the one piece crank
other than that I am loving it.

As much as I like the Z's I ride my bikes and and would always be concerned about the flexing.

I am doing this one for a good friend Magic Cat.  He sits on here in stealth mode all the time  :LolLolLolLol:

I will update the pics next week when they are both somewhere near done :daumenhoch:

Very nice that :daumenhoch: thought those sugino cranks were a bit earlier than that bike though? Not that that matters at all :daumenhoch:
There are a couple of versions of them and these are the newer version with the sealed bottom bracket that came out about 1985 ish so a year of the frame which is 86.

You bringing that to London Brett?

No I wast going to come on my 86 Haro Master
Need to get a nut and washer for the bottom bracket for the FST  which I pick up the night before at the boardroom. So keeping the FST New and having it as a Christmas present.

Magic Cat will be on his red one though :daumenhoch:
