Right chaps, if you had a £600-ish budget and had to buy a new school ride (pre-built) which one would you buy and why? whether its for good parts or just looks it doesnt matter..
link to the bike aswell please..
here is 2 of mine, if i looked for another 5 minutes im sure i'd find another 1 or 2.

thanks for your time...Paul.. :daumenhoch:
-
for what is it gonne be used ? race, street, cruising around ?
-
your choice really... but street & park i suppose, not dirt or race...this is a round about way to give me some ideas for when i have the funds to buy a new school ride, but i thought it would be interesting too see what you lot think of whats about at the moment.. :daumenhoch:
-
With that kind of budget, you really need to get to a decent shop and try some out and find the right geometry for you, then haggle the price a bit.
-
Shame you don't have an extra ton; very pretty: :smitten:

I personally find the WTP a little uncomfortable, but each to their own. :-\
Lots of great completes out there for 600 notes, though.
Good luck with your hunting; enjoy the research before you buy; makes the whole process more fun! :daumenhoch:
-
WTP all the way or maybe a Fit .The Fly`s are OK but not all cromo.I`ve seen first hand a good few Verdes cracked or snapped.
-
United Supremes are that sort of money and they're pretty decent.
You have no idea how much it pains me to say that....
Also, Stodgy has done some customs for that budget recently. A high end frame with special offer or sale components on. Well worth it. Give him a ring, have a chat. You never know what's coming along.
-
Wish i had £600 fella in trying to buy a 2nd hand for cheap as chips BUT £600 budget would by me this :)

I have been covetting this stereo all in chrome beauty, and weighs in under budget too

-
Id be looking at a 2011, maybe 2010, as the 2012 bikes are out now.
Fit are my `gut feeling' bikes this week. WTP are old hat, Sunday are good, but the kids like em too much. Verde knock some decent stuff out too.
TBH £600 will get you loads of bike, they are all made in the same place, so try a few out and pick a nice looker.
I'd buy a 2nd hand custom for £200 and take my wife away for a weekend with the £400 left over.
here endeth the lesson.

I know  Frame alone knocks out for near £400 :crazy2:
-
i'd still buy the sunday and the luxury of a having a warranty.....
that s&m rb is a bit of alright though, ask the seller to mark the box "used bicycle parts" or customs will fook you hard in the arse,
brake mounts look to be thread in so you could always buy some from s&m,
-
Just building up a S&M BTM with similar spec to that RB and that is a bargain   would need to ask if he would put a low value on it for customs, but run the risk with insurance.....(Says he only ships in the states aswell) I have one of those Sunday frames and its nice, but doesn't come close to the S&M imo, but that Sunday is also a bargain though.......Oh yeah, the RB in that pic has thread on 990 mounts, love that bike, very nice........ :smitten:

see?
fookwits,
all,
this fooker just read the last post and translated it into "fookwit" for you,
infantile abbreviations and everything,
"i'm building up an s&m btm.......with pf's and sb's.......it's better than the sunday because its more expensive.......i bought it because i'm completely un-original"
have you thought as to wether the s&m's geometry will suit you?
or were you just looking a the pretty paint?
/>
the rad bmx fookwits "shredding" at "T1"...........
-
I'm building the S&M with my 15 year old son, for him, its all his choice of parts, he's been saving, birthday moneys, pocket moneys, and getting the rest for xmas and picking up parts for best part of a year, he's rode a BTM and likes the angles of the frame. He lives , rides and breathes BMX every day.
T1
LOL, love you....

i rest my case.

Anyway back to the topic ::)
That Sunday Aaron Ross is a lot of bike for the money :daumenhoch:
But if you can sit on a few and get one which feels right :daumenhoch:
I've had a WTP Volta and loved it there's a lot of good complete's out there and with the new 2012 models there's some bargins to be had ;)
-
Anyway back to the topic ::)
But if you can sit on a few and get one which feels right :daumenhoch:
i am jacks fervent and vitriolic facepalm.
-
after talking to stodgy and seeing and feeling the goods in question i would go with a wtp cryzis in translucent red or green, lot of bike for money :daumenhoch:
-
I cant get over the spec on that sunday, thats a topend wheelset, if I was looking for a complete around that price I wouldn't look at anytyhing else, unless you have been riding n/s for a while I doubt your gonna know about geometry.
Dont do what many do and stick the bars right forward destroying the handling of the bike.

Or hack off the brakemounts/put Skyways on it etc :daumenhoch:
-
or put white tyres on it
