Okay, got this frame a couple of weeks ago off a fellow radster.Had to locate some forks which was easier than i thought(thanks Darren).the frame is an 85/86 prostyler, the tri-moly version,it is lovely and solid with no nasties, the chrome was in rider condition.was just going to build it up,but the more i looked at pics on the net,the more i had to have it white! Its how i remember them in the ads and magazine tests and the colour scheme i was in love with as a kid. So,here she is,fresh back from the powdercoaters this morning along with the seat(white peregrine)which is the only part i have collected so far! It's going to be a strict budget build this one, using mainly repop and rider condition parts, but ill still get it looking right!definites are going to be a forklifter stem, the dreaded twin pinches, arrow seatclamp, hopefully some forklifter freestyle bars.Next stop without a doubt is decal guru Del for a set of his finest!

I love these bikes, this should look great!
I agree about the white - best colour for these (with the grey/red decals?)
Why twin pinch flites though? If you have some in stock already, fair enough. But if you are gonna buy some - get a one piece.
Twin pinch flites just look nasty. Find some Prolines!
-
Sounds good apart from the Dreaded twin pinchers. What about some Sugino CT's 175 or a good 1 piece crank :daumenhoch: You probably change the twin pinchers later anyway :daumenhoch:

yep,its getting the old red/grey decals. To me a redline should have flites on it,probably the product they were most renowned for!no way i can afford originals at £300 plus.I was debating a opc,if it was any other bike apart from a redline id probably go with one.Budget might still dictate that i use a opc yet!

I'd go with the opc. It will look great!!!
But it's your ride, so build it how you want to!

The Tri Moly looks quite different , I see it has what looks to be a std 4" headtube instead of the full fat 5" jobby ( forks much harder to get for 5" headtube one ) .
Got any pics/spec of how it was from the factory ? .

yea,its got the 4" headtube,I think this one was red originally with the newer graphics,i was told it was an 86 but the red had already been stripped before i got it.I want it to look like the older one, which with a set of decals from del should complete the illusion!! :daumenhoch:
-
Right, got my decals this morning from Del,and like an impatient child set about fitting them the second i'd got em!The decals are perfect in apearance and also in size, the transformation is amazing and i'm stoked!

looking good :daumenhoch:
wouldn't worry about using twin pinch flights if you're going to ride it
you won't win any awards with them but they're more likely to stay tight :daumenhoch:

o.g.k mags or hopefully some peregrine masters, got white mx901's,oddy gyro, forklifter freestyle bars with replica plate, either kenda k55's or porkchop repop st's,ame rounds and an old style flight chainring if i can get one!oh,and a frame pad! :daumenhoch:
-
Got my replica plate from the states, bargain at $50 landed, also got my 'fakelifter' stem back from powder and stuck a decal on it.I'm well chuffed with this as it cost me £25 shipped from the states, already stripped and powdercoating cost me a tenner!!looks the nuts imo and much better than spending over £100 on a real one!

Sweet as dood :daumenhoch:

a quick snapshot, got my o.g.k's and i just wanted an idea of what the bike was going to look like!
waiting on a headset, seatpost, tyres, tubes,BB,pedals, chain, chainring and a front caliper!i feel like ive broken its back now!incidently,if my measurements are correct, this has a 20,5" top tube,so theoretically should ride well!
-
Looking good!
Pro Styler was my last BMX as a kid.
Very jealous.

You'd say so in theory ,, but as with most CW's of long TT and Haro Group 1's that measure 20+
There's actually hardly a difference because of the steep seatube angle ,which leaves the BB forward so you're still pedalling with your knees the same distance from the bars ,, albeit with the seat a greater distance away though
Really nice look build Deeman :coolsmiley:
RL20's one of the coolest looking bikes of the Eighties :)
-
This is coming together nicely mate - do like a RL-20 :coolsmiley:
