Title: Pick a gear... any gear

Twin speed rear end.

The frame looks like a proto, too.  Has SE binned off the fugly PK Ripper ???

:) Brian Lopes and countless others did it before though. It`ll be suspension forks next :daumenhoch:

On the upside the frame looks way better than anything from SE in the last 10 years.

Agreed.
It's like Ford putting Escort stickers on a Focus estate.

Boys, its not a retro ripper, its a modern race frame, things had to move on. I suspect the old look had run its course and plummeting sales figures will have forced the changes around. Not that the current/old frame performs badly, far from it, they just dont appeal to the racing public as much anymore

Couldn't a newer factory rider have a signature frame?
Title: Re: Pick a gear... any gear

Yeah, I would've dropped the ripper name altogether and gone for something completely new.  If it doesn't appeal to the younger riders why keep the name?

I agree but I reckon they will see it very corporately when it comes to dumping something like that name. I doubt 80% of the racing population (people who race not parents) know anything about Scott Breithaupt or have even heard of Perry Kramer but they will all know the phrases SE Racing and PK Ripper.

I actually love the frame, looks so much faster and slicker than the recent PK Rippers.

just checked out the link,it says he changes gear over a jump whilst pedalling in the air

Its to be hoped its in gear when he starts to pedal again on the ground,or he will be in trouble :-\

the xtr set up looks good though :daumenhoch:

I suppose there will be a problem after a tangle if that lot takes a knock :(,mind you its usually over by then :D

From a personal point of view,i already have enough to think about without gear shifting :D

ffs it'll be 24" wheels next on the track .........   :-X     like the bike not sure about the gears not realy bmx imo,  having said that supercross racing is its own event now ,  estranged from the average bmx racer.

Yes Jim,this kind of set up is probably only any use for top riders in supercross,as they spin out halfway done the first straight

No but you're carrying around extra weight and resistance for little benefit, worse chain line etc etc.
A derailleur gear is the last thing I'd want on a BMX.

It looks just like a Haro Race Lite, could all have been a coincidence ::) , he's also left Haro and now racing for DK (or some team related to DK).

Nobby's supposed SE:
