Martyn Tambling, who rides for my shop team and is Verde team manager for the UK, used to ride for 2Hip - and he still has his old Pork frames!

Marky Munnyella has got one  :)

I wish, the baddies got mine. Bustin for another, one of the only bikes on my `to do' list, so if there are any available, particularly the ally ones, I'm interested.

I had a Yellow alloy Pork in the later part of the 90's, Dan Harris ended up with it, I think He may have sold it now though? I do remember I went from a real heavy Condor with Supra E's & other heavy parts to the Pork with lighter stuff & the first air I tried on it I over rotated big style & crashed, it was short, light & very floaty!

I'm sure these are all gone by now, but they look pretty well, IMO.

I have a friend who worked at WAL and is still mates with Ron. He said that Ron worked out a deal with Skyway, and those bikes were the only place you could get 9t skyway rear wheels. (I'd think that skyway would be keen to sell them else where, but that was what he said).
I think my mate got one of these Porks as well.  :daumenhoch:

:) Does Ron W still ride a Pork? Albion issue 3 has some pics of him on what could be a Pork with integrated headtube?
Title: Re: 2 hips pork
Post by: Munnyella on December 05, 2011, 01:28 PM
I had a few emails with Ron W last year when I had mine, he said he still rode his, and that they had never had an ally one returned damaged!!

Hard to believe even an ally Pork would be lightweight!  I reckon my frame must have been about 7-8lb!!

The first Alloy Porks were at the most 5 1/2lbs, the Cromo frames knocked on the door of 10lbs I think  :LolLolLolLol:

Here is my old chromoly Pork frame. These pics were taken the day I bought it. After I took these pics I stripped off the remaining red paint and stickers, Polished up the chrome which was in brilliant condition and put on a new sticker set. It was sold a year later to a friend of mine who still owns it.

I'll go and see him and see if I can buy it back in the new year. He hasn't built it up since he took posession of it so it's still in super nice condition.....It would be excellent to have it back again.

Weighs in at just under 8lbs!!!, itrs gonna be one heavy rider, but i'm chuffed to bits with it, love the blueing on the metal from welding.

Chrome or black Forks, bars and cranks? I have both, what do you reckon?

Started building it today

Weighs in a 20lb, without wheels & tyres, chain, pedals and brake cable.

Just had a bit of a weigh of similar items in the shed, less than 10lb....

Looks like this monster will be sub 30lb, well suprised!! might even get it over the jump box at the boardroom!!!

get the wheels ordered tomorrow, chrome 48 black box rims on prolite 14mm hubs, 14t freewheel.

need to sort tyres, got loads of orphans, but not a pair of anything!! gonna be black walls though, as much as it grates my `old school' instinct!!

Hopefully done by next weekend!!
