Title: The Knight bike Goose has landed!
Post by: pickle on December 03, 2011, 05:40 PM
Picked up my Knight Bike co Goose this afternoon from SBD.......He worked his usual magic on the frame and forks.   :smitten:

Without decals
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/b339/robertbransby/IMAG0575.jpg)

Then after a bit of a warm up in the hallway i banged on the decals.  So pleased with how it's turned out so far, huge thanks to John bobaffet for all the help along the way with helping me choose decals and so on  :daumenhoch:

Due to the way the headtube is curved i had to cut the headtube decal down a bit so it wouldn't crease up, think it's worked ok  :smitten:

Cheers guys, Joe i'm going to use some chrome slams to start with.  to be honest those fly V bars are very narrow and don't come in chrome.  Standard make some (or they did) but the slams should work fine  :daumenhoch:

the slams are the best choice tbh rob, esp in chrome, i only mentioned the fly's because of the V,

one thing that does jar my eye is the fork topcap, maybe polish or re-ano, i can ask ken at zodiac eng if he can make you one that echoes the style of the old stem,

maybe polish the spacers too,

tell us about the cranks you're planning? redline flites? those retro profiles would look mint too,

i think the gold wheels would be a bit overkill, something in all chrome would lift the whole bike to another level,
only suggestions like,

 :daumenhoch:

Joe my wheels are behind the frame, chrome sun rims but the rear has red annodise spokes on a Ti axled n driver hub  :daumenhoch:  they are off my old rider but will have to do for now  :daumenhoch:  tyres will probably be tan walled Primo V monsters

 :2funny:

that looks fooking great rob :smitten:

dk post suits it really well, i was going to suggest a thomson but the dk works better tbh,

tan wall primo's will be spot on,

i keep thinking about the stem/spacers, might be worth stripping the spacers and the headset dust cover, give it more of an impression of the old "1 chrome headsets, only suggestions as always,

the ring too, its very pretty and suits the build down to a tee, it would just look amazing polished against the redline flites,

looking forward to seeing the wheels on it tbh!

That is superb, shame it'll never lay in the bottom of the Boardroom bowl like all its predecessors!!!

Keep at it!
