Post by: TIMMO1966 on December 17, 2011, 08:22 AM
Dont know how to put a link on but this is the description             1983 GT Pro Long Nora Cup Rare Old School BMX Bike Ambrosio Dia Compe Tuf Neck
Do you reckon its legit.A nice bit of history if it is but still on the expensive side.

Nice bit of kit especially the Ambrosio's but it is a bit pricey with the $225 shipping charge on top and then Customs charges too. Are they repop Tyres though?

Could be the pic but the forks do look bent.

With the choice of bits it just doesn't seem right to me, you'd have expected his son to have GT bars and post.

He's either been sold a pup or is selling a pup.

Exactly Mark ,,  ::)saw this the other night and unfortunately the guy has no proof to back his story up
,, he got it off a guy  who alledgedly picked it up from Gary turner's lad .
So even his story is second hand .  :-\

I have a GT patch that Gary Turner gave me, in a BMX shop in 1991.
Shall i email him and ask him to confirm the story?  :-\

Seems like a bit of BS to me and now the price has gone up...perhaps he's just found Gary Turner's signature on it.......

Honestly have no idea if this is the right way to look at it, but the serial number starts with 88. If it's been stored since 84, it's been in a timewarp surely? (happy to be proved wrong)

first 3 digits are the month and year , so 883 = august '83
last 4 digits is the build number that month ( 1968 )
