shimano tourney maybe ? ive noticed most were pre bent levers in them days haro plastic 2 lever would do i think but out my price range :-[
ive searched around but unable to work it out so need a clued up radster to point me in the right direction please :daumenhoch:

I think tourney are possibly 1980 on.
DC straights are definitely ok as I have a set that came with an 890 caliper dated 1979.
-
Yup DC straights are ok as are the pre bend and double bend, the haro plastic ones were from 81/2 I think, the erly plastic ones which are similar are the Hare type. Weinmann also did some nice ones from around that year.
what colour you after as I have plenty of 70's levers pal :daumenhoch:

There speaks the master, Ashley "did someone say 70's build" Kungfunky ;-D
Yep, what Ash said bud. Long time since you were building mate, what's in the pipeline? Super, Team or plain old vanilla Goose?
-
If you want uber cool and rare as Spen not haggling over prices......................................Team Products levers :coolsmiley:
-
yeah yeah yeah its all about the 70's >:D
Team Products levers Pete...wtf are they then ? :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
-
thanks for the info kungfunky ive managed to get some pre bend levers so all sorted thanks :daumenhoch:
hi spen i started doing a goose again but wasnt feeling it so binned it and im doing a 79 redline mx11 it was the first decent bmx's i see in my area as a kid so thats the reason behind the build pretty much sourced all the bits i need although im sure it will get tweaked as i put it together it wont be 100% 1979 parts but pretty much there :daumenhoch:
-
Blimey, not a Goose? I just nearly spat my coffee out ;-O
Cool, anything 70's just looks like they were designed and built in sheds, so it's tricky to replicate that look! Have a look at Ashley's Rippers or Carl's Robbos for inspiration if you don't get what I mean ;-)
-
Shimano and Dia-Compe both did pre-bent levers in the late 70's :daumenhoch:
Shimano were at least 1978 if not earlier and Dia-Compe 1979, again possibly earlier.....

Team Products levers Pete...wtf are they then ? :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
:coolsmiley:
Some fly by night company made em :daumenhoch:
I believe the bloke who's company it was is also the godfather of BMX :4_17_5:

Weinmann did some nice straight levers in the 70's, I have seen Campagnolo straight levers also which would be amazing, but they do not come up for sale often.
-
Heres some Weinmann straight levers I have, both stamped 77

I like the Weinmann's (AG's I think the model is) with the hidden clamp bolt, lovely they are...
