I actually dont know what your frame is, but being cromo it must be what universal copied for this frameset
http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=130677.0;prev_next=next
-
So it may be a universal then or maybe a townsend like in the pic? I do know the forks arnt orignal
-
yes it looks like one of the ones what someone called bankrupt bike parts has been selling on ebay to me
-
done with the right parts it can look tops - choose carefully and it will look like they sold it complete like that >:D
-
It is a nice looking frame and your right that with the right parts it could be a nice bike.
It has a odesy giro headset so maybe stick with that?. Maybe one day i will find out what
it is
-
Like the other said i think it is a generic frame - copied from other frames and made for the mass market but cheaper - but they are a good frame and can be worked well
have a look on here at what sort of parts suits it ;)
mags or spokes ? colour choice ?
-
Thats cool may have to look for parts then and see what i can build. As far as mags or spokes then ive got white mags and gold and chrome weinmans? thought maybe gold and chrome?
Anyway thanks for the help so far guys and it looks like i may be useing your skills again as i have a workshop full of frames and stuff :)

I'm wondering whether this is a copy, all the townsends, universals and magna's that look like this are all Hi Ten frames, this one is cro mo, making it instantly 200% better [unless its just a sticker!!] Perhaps this is something else a bit more mid range, like a Ruption etc
-
Good point is it just a sticker? Do these cro mo stickers come in 1 design because ive seen the exact sticker in
the same place on a aero reflex on the bay?

well the weight of the frame and the welds would tell you, get some close ups when it arrives
-
If i could get pics on here i would but cant for some reason. ive got the frame with me so could weigh it and take pics.
-
Ive weighed the frame guys after fully stripping it down and it comes in at just under 3kg.....6.5lb
and decided that im going with cro mo parts to match the frame. will pinch parts of my other bikes and build it up for pics if i can get photo bucketto work :)
-
you can get photobucket working ;) keeping it working and not making you go mad will be another thing ;D

-
Jay, not sure if it's just the pictures but fook me that looks a short frame!
-
Yeah it does look short in the pics doesnt it. Ill go and measure it from end to end.
-
It measures 890mm from head tube to rear dropout? is that short?
would still be nice to put a name to it?? :)
-
what is that in inches? as that's how frames are measured :daumenhoch:
-
Yeah sorry dude my mistake its 35 inches from end to end.
-
no, you need t measure the top tube length....this is measured from the center of the seat tube to the center of the head tube :daumenhoch:
-
Lol got there in the end......Its 19 inches mate.
-
That's not to bad then, looks shorter than that in the piccies :daumenhoch:
-
Thats cool then cos if i keep it or sell it the size shouldnt be a problem.
thanks for all the help dudes and when the stupid photo thing works ill show u more i have hiding away :daumenhoch:
-
I've got the same frame. Was told it was a Townsend but the rear dropouts and bend in tube don't match
This is how I set mine up but it's now on ebay. Only built as practice for a Street Beat resto
