Hi gang, I have dyed a set of aero zytecs from lavender to blue as they were very faded and am thinking of using them on a rider I'm building. Has anyone done this? Will the brake rub the colour straight off the mags, and also will coloured pads help?
Cheers
John

They will rub the colour off - but if your not worried it will look cool
the dye only covers the top surface of the wheel
coloured brake pads may help but dirt/dust will also pick up on the rim and turn it a bit black
if your just using them for a rider i can't see it should worry you too much if it does show
cheers B ;)

Thanks B, I know you always get a bit of rub so that's kool, I just wanted to know how bad it would be ;)

it will depend on the brake pad used as well - old one's like tuff style will make more of a black line - new school ones will rub dye of quicker, but do a better job of stopping
it will look alright with brake rub lines on a rider as that was what it was like back in the day - hence why all the skyways have brake rub marks to get off on resto's
