Title: Stolen bike help :( UPDATE-28/01 & 3/2-PAGE 2
Post by: HEYWOOD BMX on January 05, 2012, 09:23 PM
:(  Dunno where to start...Got a call this evening from my  club chairman telling me that one of our younger members has had his house burgled. The scum totalled the house and taken his brand new Haro Pro racebike that he got for Christmas & had not even left the house yet.The kid is devastated and the family are uninsured. We`ll have a whip round at the club & see if we can raise funds or parts asap as he was looking forward to racing his first National series soon.If anybody comes across a new black/red Haro Pro racebike for sale in the North Manc/East Lancs/E-bay please can you let me know?

**Thanks to all that have pledged your support,my PP addy is P.LEADON@NTLWORLD.COM** will keep you all updated.

                     Cheers,

                       James

Keep your eye out on gumtree and the cash generator site. Its bound to turn up at some point. Pretty specialised item so there won't be many places they can get shut of it.

Best wishes  :daumenhoch:

:) Cheers,I`m gutted that I don`t have much stuff left to build him a bike. There seems to be loads of high end MTB and BMXs stolen locally in the last few months.Times like this makes me wish I was a 7 ft bruiser and/or had a gun :daumenhoch:

This is very sad news. I had a couple of bmx stolen when I was a kid. It felt like the world had ended.  :'(
Perhaps we should have a collection. What was it worth? :daumenhoch:

BIG BUMP , spoke to James today regarding the collection and things are going well . Dirtworks have made a generous start to help fund a new bike and radsters have generously added to that. i know times are difficult and its just been xmas , but if anyone can donate a few quid it will be great fully appreciated and will help James replace the xmas present the young bmx kid never even got to ride  :daumenhoch:  cheers guys

:) I managed to get Callum a bike just before this weekend.Sadly I fell short of my anticipated target as some people who had promised funds let me down (NOT Radsters) There are still some funds outstanding & I will use this to upgrade some of the parts.A massive thankyou to all those RADBMX members who helped & also to Hudu for his generosity:) There is a thread over on BMXTALK..http://bmxtalk.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=45033

           Cheers to you all,

             James

Then we can tell you the seat is too low and the bars are to far back!!  :LolLolLolLol:

now thats whats rads all about , a kid who may not have much but can appreciate what is done for him  :4_17_5: and a BIG mention to you James for organising the whip round and sorting the bike out for Callum  :4_17_5:
Title: Re: Stolen bike help :( UPDATE-28/01
Post by: Discostu on January 28, 2012, 09:30 PM
Yes I have to agree this is what the rad community is all about. Sometimes a few quid in the pot to help out another fellow bmxer goes a long way. I'm sure he will never forget what has been done for him.  :daumenhoch:

James did you explain to him that the payments weren't donations but shares in him. So in 10 years time when he is a world champion we all get a cut back + 10%.  :daumenhoch:

So get him down that track and get his arse into gear!  That's my pension investment!!  :LolLolLolLol:
