Title: skyway ta bars ?

has anyone else seen the skyway bars on us e-bay.they look bugger all like
skyway bars to me and are up to $400 at the moment.

OG Skyway racebars go for £300 plus these days as they hardly ever come up for sale. Only worth it if you are willing to spend it though. I couldn't say weather these are genuine though, not much info there.

they look totally wrong shape to be skyway race bars,look more like out of shape robinson experts :-\

genuine ones  had twin  straight line knurling (stem area)  :)

BMX Actionbike back page  Skyway advert used to show the bars  ;)

Advert first appears March 1985 and the bars are titled "Comp BMX Handlebar"
The Ebay ibars aren't a million miles out  :-\
 I had some Johnny Chopper Skyway race bars a few years ago ( they are not knurled BTW )  :)

Here's the earliest add i could find, American Freestylin issue 8403 it says on the download.

You can make out the two knurling lines. Basically they are the same as gen 1 freestyle bars but with a straight bar.

Woody was telling me they were used by the US team but didn't make an appearance for sale in the UK until 86, so the UK skyway team didn't get to use them.

Those in the  advert have a thinner higher crossbar and are wider across the bottom part.someones getting ripped.

Woody said the skyway distributor didn't import them. Why , I don't know.
