What did the other rider weigh 20 stone  are you ok bud , you've even broke a spoke , is the frame ok
must admit for a minute i thought you'd let Diggler ride it :LolLolLolLol:
-
:D ouch ...... have you still got the warranty card? :LolLolLolLol:
-
Black flag 084 !! cheating again what have we said about those ilegal tyres >:D
-
John ,,,it's usually chains you break for fun ,,not the big hardware
That Manchester indoor is a knarley track though >:D
First straight ? ::)
What class were you in ?
Glad you're ok :daumenhoch:

Ha ha, no point using knobby tyres on that track; the dirt is so hard packed that it's basically like dusty concrete.

No, didn't attempt the first jump, too risky for my level of skill. Loads if crashes on it :(
3rd straight, guy just in front of me went down in the rhythm section and I rode through/over him at speed :10_2_12: .
That straight is okay if you get a good pump/manual/jump but get your timing wrong and it easily gets messy... luckily I hit his body armour.
I was the oldest guy in 35-39 cruiser, was very serious and very quick.

Yeah I'm fine, I had another rider to land on :D
Don't know about the frame, I didn't get chance to look as it was 10pm by the time we got back and I'd got F to bed ::) , so late mainly for all the crashes and injuries...
So, 3rd pair of forks - this bike is getting like Trigger's broom ;)
-
Good skills Jon ;D , I dont think that should happen to cromo forks if you hit a body though, armour or not
Glad you're Ok bud :daumenhoch:
-
Oh and check your headtube...thoroughly :)
-
Fook....
To fix it simply turn the bars round and ghost the bike into a wall... job done... :4_17_5:
Glad you're ok John.... :daumenhoch:
Looking at the forks again, was the bloke you run over ok?

He's sore but okay - a bit shaken after being clattered by me, and he lent me his bike to roll round in the 3rd moto which was nice :daumenhoch:
-
it was probs the only thing he could have done once he seen your forks then the size of you :LolLolLolLol:
-
I will check the videos when I get home tomorrow. I think we may have caught that. :daumenhoch:
-
that pic dont do the forks justice at all they are muich worse in the flesh than that pic shows lol
i think you must have run over into him and then hist the next roller or summat because they are mashed completely .cant see a body doing that although his frame may have but then that would have suffered too i reckon .

Have to see what the video evidence shows.

Latest damage from tonight's session at Bradford:
-
Yikes, what happened.
-
I was going a bit too slow and manualled the medium-large double after the step up/step down on the 2nd straight at Bradford.
I had to do a really big manual to get across and ended up bailing to the left but I landed on my front wheel and most of the spokes on one side of the wheel sheared the nips :bondage:
I'd been doing it easily at speed but not easy when going a lot slower.

Ouch! See this is the yin to the yang of me researching getting into track riding. I get myself all daydreamy and excited, thinking yeah I reckon I could give it a go. The thought of pain and damage to me and any new bike I buy puts me off a bit.
Everything I read tells me not to push hard or reach beyond yourself at first. I'd be a natural at that approach ha ha! But then someone could go down heavy in front of you anyway and take you out. So selfish ;)
Glad everyone apart from the forks were ok...
-
Damn  racing is so much fun to do, But when we crash we are falling a lot harder then 20 years ago

Keith - don't let this sort of thing put you off at all. I've generally been making steady progress with the riding, I've got SO much fitter, lost weight and gained loads of new skills that I didn't have even when I raced as a kid. I LOVE it :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

It really wasn't a bad crash at all last night - I just bailed to the left but my bike went to the left as well and I landed on it ::)

Cheers Jon, that's what I was hoping for. I'm not that competitive so will probably just be happy with improving technique and speed for myself very gradually once I (hopefully) start.
I have put a couple of feelers out on bmxtalk (thanks jaymz for the heads up) for a complete bike, and I'm watching a good full face helmet on the bay.
what else is wise (mask, gloves, knee & elbow pads, or full on body armour)?

No need for a facemask if you'll have a fullface helmet. I find elbow pads of some sort invaluable as I always land on my forearms, gloves, and kneepads if I'm not wearing long trousers. I always wear some shin protection (mainly cos my right shin is already a mess). Body armour can be useful - no one knows exactly how you're going to fall ???
-
Keith, i've got elbow pads and body armour for pennies if you want it mate ????
Can't remember what they are but they do have a decent name on them, 661 i think.
It's one of the reasons i gave up racing, 9 busted bones in 18months wasn't good. Plus i've a permanently dislocated collarbone and shoulder problems now from an off at Andover practising.
I'll stick to restoring. :LolLolLolLol:
-
Cheers Andy, would defo be interested. After all of you guys tales there's no way I am not getting full PPE . I like my bones and blood where it is ;D squeaky bum time is beckoning...
