Title: ODYSSEY FREQUENCY-G TIRES
Post by: deeman on February 07, 2012, 11:49 PM
I was considering a set of the new ODYSSEY FREQEUNCY G tyres for my rider, main reason is they come in 1.75 with a tan wall!I was wondering if anyone has any they have ridden on and what feedback they have?

i,ve got a set on my flatland bike although not tanwalls, might be a bit skinny for ramp but great for flat.  :daumenhoch:

I've used the 1.85's, great tyre & actually work well all round, narrow even for the size though I thought.

weird... I've just spotted these too! ... I just missed out on a pair of these on ebay for £30 so decided I should invest ... best price I got was from Brighton BMX

I'm running 1.95 Primo VMonsters but they just look too darn big on my 91 Sport so I actually went for 1.75s as I thought they would be more like the original Haro tyres... will send you some pics when I get them on  :)

I think they look wicked  :)

They're pretty skinny. The design is a modern version of the old 80's ACS RL Edge tyre, so they look the part on older rides if nothing else!

Ed, I don't know if these picture's are much help, I just stuck a new 1.85 Frequency G on a rim & put it beside a new 1.95 Vmonster, both pumped up to 60 psi, the FreqG is about 46mm wide & the Primo is 50mm, so expect the 1.75 to be a few mm narrower.

Looking at those pics I'm a bit worried again... those tyres look a bit religious with all the crucifixes on :(

I'll just have to pretend they are all upside down  >:D

 ;D

actually the ones in the pic I posted have an offset top compared to your ones ... bit of a different design

( soz for hijacking your thread by the way Deeman )

How many of you line up the tyre logos with the valve?

It's something i've never even given a thought to...  ;D

you will now , be stood looking at your ride and notice the logo's off a bit , you'll think nothing of it at the time but then it will start winking at you,  ;) ;) then  the little voice will start chanting "line me up with the valve"   :D :D :D :D

I have finished my research on these now.

I've got a 1.75 pair and a 1.85 pair and I conclude the following :

a) the 1.75 pair look betterer on my Sport but having been running 1.95 Primo's look a bit thin to be riding... so I'm running the 1.85s
b) the 1.75s have a blue Oddy logo and the 1.85s have a orange logo
c) the 1.75 have a 'crucifix' tread but the top of the crucifix is offset... the 1.85 have a 'crucifix' tread and its not offset.

Conclusion - I like these tyres.
