Post by: kjilaja on February 10, 2012, 08:33 PM
hi,got myself a pair of NOS 1985 stamped dia compe 901's with weinmann adjusters, also purchased a pair of front and rear stamped 85 dia compe brake cables, having trouble on how to set these up,the metal end on the end of the cable that goes into the 901 doesn't fit it's too big? how do i connect it to the caliper?are these calipers and cables compatible?help please, also got a potts mod tuf neck stem on,how do you connect via this?i know it's loads of questions but never fitted these brakes before, thanks nick  :daumenhoch:

 ???

Metal end of the cable  ???  :-\

As for using the potts mod for the front brake you will need a rear cable to do that  :daumenhoch: as the front is too short  ;)

901 isnt a good caliper to potts mod as the front caliper will hit the frame if you try to spin the bars
also you will need to change the quick release for a front dc nippon version ( or take it off altogether ) what you really need is an fs880 front caliper nick

The metal ferrules need to be cut off to make the cables fit in to the caliper and lever.
