Looking sweet that Robbo, I'm def going for white seat, grips and tyres, would like chrome bars, so will be trawling the web. May also put some cream Acorn mags on that I've put on my lads ride, he don't need em, plenty of spoked rims for him to used :LolLolLolLol:
-
Thats sweet Robbo, i would love to own a Sport like that in the future :daumenhoch:
-
Stick with spokes if you're gonna ride it, those acorns flexed even more than skyways... :-\
Not a massive fan of these and the 09 freestyler Haros, they're just a low end bike with retro Haro stickers
It'll be fine for cruising about on though... :daumenhoch:
-
I love these bikes, for me they ride really nice.

Skills George :4_17_5: :coolsmiley:

Nice bikes George, liking the black and white combo :daumenhoch:

Cheers fellas. I think these bikes are massively underrated. A lot of people on here don't like them which is fair enough. Some people put their point across more eloquently than others.
For what I do this bikes great. It is stable in the air and stable on the ground. My federal was too twitchy on the back wheel, so was the fly and subrosa but not as bad as the federal. My standard lengthy was great but a bit short for ramp/park and was very heavy.
The haro is a bit heavy but I've got it below 30lbs without spending a fortune.
So my choice is ride my haro as its the best for what I do, or ride a more popular frame that doesn't ride as well but keeps the trendys happy.
Not a hard choice really.
Hope you enjoy yours as much as I love mine fella. Be great to see the finished pics.

Got the parts ordered, so will be stripping it down tomorrow, clean up and grease bearing etc, ready to rebuild once the bits arrive, I'm sure i will enjoy riding it as much as rebuilding it.
I'll get some pics up when it's done ;)

Good job, you gonna keep it the same colour of have it powdered? Theres some lovely examples on here including a luch red/white one.
-
It will be staying as is for now George, although the paint is pretty chipped, I was wondering if its possible to remove the colour as it seems its chromed underneath? may try a bit of nitromorse on the BB. I would like to get it powdered when funds allow, but for now i'm just going to ride it :daumenhoch:
-
Loved the ride of mine just a shame it was so heavy
(http://i1030.photobucket.com/albums/y370/brettypeeps/Haro%20Sport%20Rider/DSC00171.jpg)
Both the car and the sport are now gone :'(
-
I took the paint off with nitromors on my first couple, got them blasted on the later ones just cos it was so cheap with the powdercoating. The chrome isnt the best and is worse on the covered bit to get the paint to stick a bit better.
-
No point stripping to ride that way then? seems like the rear chrome has a clear layer over it!
-
I'd strip it! I saw this bike on ebay and considered buying it myself, it certainly was a steal for the price it was!
-
You could do fella. The clear coat is a lacquer to protect it. It comes off ok with nitro. Don't have it powdered with the lacquer on cos it burns on as I found out the hard way!!
My chrome one is the normal chrome finish. No good for show but fine for a rider.
-
I like these, for retro looking rides. 8)
-
Thanks George for the info, I'll probably keep the colour for now, but if i get itchy fingers, least now i know i can strip it ;) Not intersested in show, I just want to ride a reasonable looking bike ^"^

I ended up paying £50 for it, only wanted to pay £30 tbh, but the kid was having none of it :LolLolLolLol:
-
Nice one, I couldn't be bothered to drive to Kent to pick it up! 8)
-
He lived 10 mins round the corner from me, I wouldn't have gone for it otherwise ;)
-
Excellent, very good deal then.
-
A bit of a clean up, cant do much with the paint work its :2gunsfiring_v1:
New white Blank seat, white skyways grips and chrome chogger bars, and a pair of pe-loved white DiamondBack tyres, nothing fancy but it looks cleaner :LolLolLolLol:
Every single Allen bolt is rusted, so I'll change them at some point for nice shiney new ones, and the chain needs a good clean and some oil, don't think its ever seen oil :LolLolLolLol:

Could do with a shorter top giro cable, but it was all i had in the spares ::)
-
:daumenhoch:
Looks a lot better. Nice one!
-
Cheers George :daumenhoch: Will be riding today, see how it feels :)
-
looks a lot better mate, are those bars the ones on ebay ??
-
cool, personally i'd go with some tan wall tyres like oddy's or something but i think these are cool riders :daumenhoch:

Yea I like the tan walls, the diamondbacks were knocking about in the shed, bit of life left, once they wear think I'll get some nice white tanwall
-
Just added a pair of Haro Knee savers, thanks Mark (WINI)
The White tanwall search begins...

-
odyssey do white tanwalls - path, plythe etc. modern but still look good.
-
Cheers man, although I'll prob be leaving the white tyres for a bit, as I got a new ride coming, the Haro will be retired to the shed for a bit ;)
-
Nice! Not too keen on the seat though

Cheers man. I would have prefered a plain white seat, but this one does the job ;)
