Hey chaps....
Thinking of lacing up some rims (not sure which yet) using Bullseye hubs. Looking for pre 85's though. Is there any way to date these, as I do not want to use a newer set?
Cheers! :daumenhoch:

I'd say 80% of the ones you see for sale and on peoples builds are the modern ones
people just put the oval old school logo decals on :-\
Bullseye made their first production sealed hubs in 1975 for roadbikes, had quick release and skewers. Came out with small BB for roadbikes.
1978 came out with Bmx version hub..same Bullseye hub design but with axle bolt.spanner type
1981-82 Bullseye Hubs came out with allen wrench axle bolts
1985-86 Changed Bullseye font logo on hub from oval label to longer font style with a bullseye in it.
1986-87 Changed big Allen wrench bolts on hub to smaller Allen bolt head

Chris, the logo was different in '83. Think it was changed in late '82 but it was definately the target logo in '83.

and i was going to say hold the hub close to your lips, and whisper, 'fancy going out sometime? ' :crazy2:

Ha ha... I was wondering who would pick up on the 'dating' part! ;D

Early versions came with the orange bearings, some examples here :)
