Hi everyone, can't believe I'm finally going to be able to chat to fellow old schoolers. :smitten:
To keep it brief my story is as a youngster I had silver Raleigh GS Burner and a Dad who didn't understand the concept of buying or swapping new bits. I guess I never really got this out of my system and finally in the summer of 2011 I finally acquired my dream bike... a green 85 Haro Master. I fully intended to ride it but someone showed me a youtube clip of some guy openening a box of NOS Hutch pedals that he found in Japan and I was immediately smitten with the idea of restoring my bike to full factory spec. Anyways I'm very close to finishing now ( and very poor ) and I hope to share some piccies when its complete. I'd love to go to Milton Keynes this year and show it off. That's the dream anyway.
take care and kind regards,
Antony

Welcome to the madhouse mate. Soon you will have loads of bikes and fook all money. ;)
Get some pics up of your green 85 master build in progress. Always good to look at. I have only just finished my green 85 a few weeks back. Top bikes those were. :smitten:

Cheers for the welcome everyone, I'm stoked to be on here. I've just been mugged for a lovely set of 400 sugino flight cranks for £450.00! Does this seem fair to you old heads. Is this forum a cool place to shop for parts ? Is it cheaper, safer, fairer than the bay ? Let me know your thoughts ?
Have any of youhad the good grace to deal with Mark at Retrospectbmx.com ? He really is a top geezer and such a nice man to do business with ?
I'm desperate for some NOS or minty white alloy hubbed skyways with a suntour coaster. Any tips or ideas? How does the dib dobs dobs thing work ? Yes, i know I must sound really stupid :buck2: :idiot2:
cheers y'all 8)

sounds a lot but im not the expert.. say dib dob on the thread then p/m (message) the person to discuss the sale ! :daumenhoch:

Welcome mate :)
Buy a site supporter tag then you can dib dobs parts in the for sale section. Someone will advertise a part say a Dia Compe Blue Tech 4 lever. You can then say dib dobs DC T4 Blue, then you get first refusal.
I bought a couple of things from Mark at retrospect BMX and he is helpful.

cheers everyone for the advice. I guess I've been royally mugged for parts in the last 10 months :2gunsfiring_v1:. Maybe my next build will cost less than £5000 :LolLolLolLol: Parts on the bay have been rising faster than Mike Dominguez on a half pipe. :'(
cheers y'all Antony

welcome to your new addiction. Just when you think you've got enough bikes someone will post up a sweet deal for sale and away you go again, Ive bought two this week :idiot2:

Almost correct! For me, calling dib dobs on an item in the For Sale section means you have bought it, and have the money ready to pay (unless you work something out privately).
Its not a 'first refusal' thing where you can dib everything that comes up and then decide whether or not you want it. Just a bit of clarity :daumenhoch:

Welcome to RAD - get some pics up :daumenhoch:

Also Welcome from holland mate :daumenhoch:

Yes, agreed. I should have said what WINI has clarified. You dib the item, therefore you are ready to pay the seller. :daumenhoch:
