Is it normal to have to remove the front axle on a skyway to fit into reflex forks? I've been building my bike up today & the rear skyway went into the frame no problem but there seems to be no way I'm going to be able to get the front skyway into the drop outs without removing the axle & then threading it through.
Cheers :daumenhoch:

if they are the new tuffs you would need to file some flats into the front axles

Yeah, they're new Tuff's, guess I'll be filing flat sides into them tomorrow then, what a pain! >:(

might be easier, if you dont have a grinder :-\

its dead easy with a file, takes 10 mins, hold the fixing nut on the opposite side with a spanner and file the axle carefully , turn it 180 and do that side, you dont have to take much off and it shouldnt damage the thread, I did it and im thick as fook :crazy2:

agreed he is ::)
agreed easy peezy fix with a small file :daumenhoch:

Cheers BMX1973, rather than file flat spots into the axle, i've followed your link to winstaleys bmx & ordered a new front axle with flat spots already machined for £5.99 delivered! Bargain. Now this might sound like a really stupid question, but does the old axle come out easy enough? Is it just a case of removing the cone nuts & tapping the axle through? Any advice would be greatly appreciated :daumenhoch:
Cheers everyone for your suggestions.
